Another release, another recommended single of the week...
Boomkat review:
Soul Motive make some devastating moves with their latest plate drawing together masters of the old and nu skool garage scene, giving up a side each to El-B and Rossi B & Luca. Both outfits have made sizeable impressions on the UK urban and garage scenes respectively, with El-B contributing template setting riddims since the late 90's and undisputed heavyweights Rossi B & Luca holding down pirate radio and raves from London to Bristol for the best part of this decade with a slew of their own edits and original street riddims. Their 'Jah No Dead' track smashes the A-side with a stupendous display of subbass control harnessed by a nu-meets-old style garage riddim. This track has been getting everyone from Martyn to Blackdown very excited and we'll happily join the bandwagon as this is an absolute killer. El-B's 'Son De Cali' on the flip is easily the best thing we've heard from him since he re-emerged on the scene a few years back. It's an update of his contorted riddim style with traces of Central/South Americann Cumbia rhythms and Amazonian flute licks shaped into a UK Bass winner showing he's definitely not lost the touch. We really can't get over that bass on the Rossi B & Luca cut so this 12"s got certified essential status - KILLLLERRRRR!!!!!!

Getting a great reaction from vinyl sales and freeMP3s, we won;t be puting it out on digital release for a bit yet, so make sure to get out there and cop the vinyl!
