There is some good black metal out there. It is few and far between, but writing an entire genre off based on some photographs is a bit retarded.

All these modern "extreme" metal bands with four or more words in their names are shit.

I'm more of an Amon Tobin man myself.

Has anyone here heard Amon Tobin's remix of Slayer's classic "Angel Of Death" called "Angel Of Theft"???? If not the free download is below...............

Lot of good stuff mentioned here!
Diggin the first 3-4 albums from Dying Fetus.
Rotten Sound ("Exit" is genius album) & Nasum are sick as well.
On the Black Metal side of things Immortal, early Mayhem and few bits from Emperor are good stuff.
Might not exactly fit to genres mentioned but Deicides "Legion" is solid album too.

Black metal is by far the most adventurous type of music metal has had to offer so far. Moreso than Neurosis, or Godflesh or god knows what else.

Bwahahahahahahaha!!!!!

I'd suggest posting links so I can hear that music.
I posted a link to Ulver.

But sure.

Listen to this song and also the second part of the vid, it's a long track

Always In Anger...

The greatest melodies are in black metal.[/url]

I like Cannibal Corpse as long as it's pre Corpse Grinder, while Six Feet Under may suck pretty hard Chris Barnes was a shit load better in Cannibal Corpse than Fischer is.

It's all about the OSDM lately, lads. There's been a massive revival and Dead Congregation are spearheading it.

Slugathor, Funebrarum, Teitanblood, Goreaphobia, Excoriate and Maim have all put out records this year well worth hearing if you like the old school chunky sounding rifftastic Death Metal.

I deal with a lot of Metal on the side so gimme a shout if you boys want any rec's be it Death Metal, Black Metal, Thrash Metal or whatever. Gotta love it, eh?
