the mainstream feeds off the underground, then the underground goes and does something else even more mental. Yes, pop records will eventually nick bits of dubstep records (if that Britney one hasn't already).
Doesn't stop the underground carrying on. Garage didn't "die" did it - it just split into a hundred pieces and came back even more mental.
Reggae got big in the sixties and seventies, but it doesn't mean there aren't steppers dub nights now.
