The more women in dubstep the better to be honest. Don't really see why we have to have gender specific threads though. Does this ever happen in threads where it's not an issue?
woke up this morning and....faaahck me, i'm a bird. jeeeeesus, i've also got legs. newsflash init. definitely allow these threads.

Seriously though. If you can't be polite to women just for the sake of it do it for the sake of the music you like. No music scene can reach critical mass, maintain a following, allow it's artists to eat etc. without including, supporting and enticing the half of the population that is female. Sausage parties are not the way to win. If you keep treating girls like garden impliments etc that is where you will find yourself shocking out though. Why do you think all the big MCs in Grime are officially proclaiming themselves 'funky house ravers' now? Not the way forward at all really.

hera, lil boh peep, and kozee are defo up there in my "cali dubstep family" peeps... they bring the heat innit!!
regarding what mr. shadetek said: one reason that dubstep appeals to me is that it integrates the best parts of dance music (bass, hard hitting beats, etc) and 'sophisticated' electronic stylings (formerly known as idm) in a well-balanced manner. the resulting audience of which being a varied mix of folks-- far-removed from the sausage-fest IDM excursions that I'm familiar with. dubstep's got the makings for a healthy community, and that's what I like.

Not saying disallow them, just saying that it's only an issue if you make it one. I know a hell of a lot of women dj's that do perfectly well without dressing scanty and having to be a sex object too - because they're good selectors and know how to work the crowd.
This is dubstep forum not dubstep forum for men, although I can totally understand from some posts why you might think otherwise, but then confront it there. Sorry if you're reading something into this that wasn't there. Truth of the matter is that on a producer level it's pretty much anonymous so any amount of people making tracks might be women and they'll be judged on whether the tunes are good or not

It's NSFW, and it's also not the kind of pics we allow on the forum.

nah y've misunderstood...my lazy slang init. I'm saying 'llow these threads - as in, I don't really see the need for them. having been a girl for well, forever, i'm not inclined to spend too long talking about it in the context of dubstep or any other kind of music.
from time i get turned away at the door at fwd for being a girl, then i'll be bothered. other than that, it's never been any kind of an issue. i'm also not one of them birds whose 'down with my sisters' etc etc, for the same reasons.
plus there's nothing wrong with a girl dj looking good too. this and skills are ont mutually exclusive. it's actually only geezers that make her a sex object. and judging by most of the posts in this thread, that'd generally just be in their heads...

Thanks, you guys are awesome and I have found that most men in dubstep are way more supportive of me and women than men have been to me in dnb.

That's the one. Be nice if the guys running the nights would give a few opportunities to the female talent too. Not talking positive discrimination but there's plenty of women out there with skills and it'd be nice to see more ladies representing.
