i have to totally disagree with most of you. i think his shit is excellent. almost reminds me of like a lil wayne swag, but with his basslines. like "i dont give a fuck, you've heard this synth a million times, but i do it so well you still love it, you want to hear more bass, i'm a cocky asshole..."
for me, it's all about the attitude of his tracks, taking ridiculous sounds and somehow making dance smashers out of them.
but i've probably wasted my time typing this just so some random tnuc can quote me and talk nonsense.

All I have to say in regards to Rusko and Clipz is "Rats in the Kitchen".

That doesn't really make any sense here. I'm jealous of his good tunes and his success, but some of them are like he's ripping off his own tracks. Caspa style one note bollocks with seemingly no real depth to it.

Sorry to pick out Rubber chicken here, but f**, that is a terrible tune.

No, he isn't bad producer.

Yes, his tunes seem to start be all the same. He just doesen't seem to have anything new to give. Doesen't mean his tracks couldn't be popular or dancefloor fillers. His style is getting repeative. Wobble after wobble.

But yes, I'm curious what happens if he takes new direction in his music.

True that, he probably doesn't even have time to get creative with that schedule and there is no way around it because shows are bread for producers these days. This is def a drawback to the modern dance music business model.

Nah i got enough respect for Rusko! Big boy producer, made some sick remixes! and fair play for doing that producer masterclass. admit it, how much did it help!!!
Also big ups for doing something different live, alright its not everyones cup of tea. But its something else, i saw it at Glastonbury. thought it was sick, and Rod Azlan is a badman too!

gotta say, pendulum as a live band makes sense-- waaaaay more so than their d&b of 2006 or so. it really kinda works as a rock band.

in the great, overhyped continuum of the dub and the step, rusko serves a fun, important place. I can't remember the last time i brought his tunes to a dance but that's just me. people seem to dig it, though it does often seem to be a boys-club thing.

and holy shit have i ripped off 'love is real' in a bunch of tunes that have either been released or are on the table.

I prefer stuff that makes me think and want to move, regardless of who produces it. I do suppose unless all you do is play music and produce tunes full time for a living, then you really don't have a reference point to judge what that means to or does to someone who does, right? I personally never did like Rusko, but I don't love wobble repetition "music" anyway. Save that preset, wank shit for high schoolers who don't actually play music and can't hear much reality past all the pot and booze anyway. Give me, the delicious soulful, thought provoking original sounding shit all day, don't care who's producing, or what the style is as long as it's real, creative, quality tunes, and that's relative to my opinion of qualtiy. Dude's makin money and if that's his only goal, he's a success. If he wants to push musical boundaries, well then, he never has imo and he better get a move on, maybe take some more piano lessons to go along with his half rate dub style bass playing.

this does happen a lot with artist.
i think that once you break into the scene and people like your stuff a lot then the artist feels that maybe he can try new things, experiment more.
can't blame the dude, he's makin' the big bucks.
on the other hand, he could be messin' with us and put out a slammin' ep.
