Yeah I wouldn't use something just cause it looked cool. More of a case where I'm already comfortable with what I'm using and couldn't find what I wanted to do and the default GUI was just foreign. Reason users got all the wires and what not. Cool concept, but if I wanted to be messing with wires, I'd just use hardware.
I liked Reason because of the wires back in 02 because I understood wires, I did not understand computers so well. Anyway you can switch the wires off.relik wrote:Yeah I wouldn't use something just cause it looked cool. It is actually is the native plug-ins of Logic that I think look tits. Not that the rest of it isn't pleasing on the eye. Every time I see a how to in Comp Music for Logic I am always think to myself, damn that looks cool. Been thinking about trying to Hackentosh my PC but it is a lot of work just to play around with a DAW.nowaysj wrote:Yeah, not for the features, just for the sex appeal.
And referring to 3.

heard he uses reason rewired into ableton, but really was just hoping to spark some conversation about his productions, or maybe some of the techniques he uses to get that sound. rustie kills itDeadly Habit wrote:man progs wont make you sound like anyone else
your workflow will
just become strong at your tools at hand instead of who works with what

I'm sorry but using reason or fruity rewired into Ableton is like having chick riding in your Ferrari. Yeah its fun for a little bit, but if you dropped that extra baggage off and learned a new workflow you could really fly.

well, felt the need to explain that i wasn't trying to find that mystery vst or daw that would magically give me that sound, but was more interested in the techniques, maybe the way those bleepy synths are being processed or maybe what he might be doing to the overall track to get such a woozy, hallucinatory sound.ScooterJack wrote:wayoftheworld wrote: heard he uses reason rewired into ableton, but really was just hoping to spark some conversation about his productions, or maybe some of the techniques he uses to get that sound. rustie kills it
your first post sure was an obscure way of asking that question
