in all fairness i dont think drakes a genius by it's true meaning, but for how people are defining genius in this thread he his... (or is at least on the same level)

wether u like him or not he does his sound so well, & id say he changed/invented his style of rnb/hip hop - which in terms of accomplishment is quite a big deal and gives him more genius points than some of the people in this thread who are just good producers/writers

^yeah I'd say so too. I'm of the opinion that the way Drake uses his voice to create rhythmic and melodic harmonies with the beats of 40 Shebib is really really clever. Genius is probably an exaggeration but it's fairly original in many ways and is definitely intelligent. And he's got some interesting things to say, I think.

Again, 100% my opinion and I know many don't agree, but come on it would be nice if you could disagree a bit more cordially, haha. that's the way to have intelligent conversations about music, which i think is what DSF is originally supposed to be about? more or less?

Drake is doing nothing original. He's taking rap from 20 years ago, and just talking about bitch made shit instead of street shit. Or he does that bling bling talk on features. Hardly innovative and/or genius.

DRAKE IS ESSENTIALLY THIS GENERATION'S NELLY.

question of anybody that knows the emergent Bristol crew:
Which of them is most likely to produce the most original, influential tunnage?
pennyfroobs ^ is likely to say Kahn. what say others?
