If they made voting mandatory and made it possible to vote on your phone or on the internet, the republicans would never win a presidential election or a majority in either house again unless they radically changed their policies, which they would do. i don't think the problem is that there aren't enough liberals in the US (I've read that upwards of 60% of Americans are liberals) or that the individual liberals themselves aren't "strong enough" liberals, it's that the democratic party and any person or idea associated with it is systematically sabotaged by the media and the government.

1-2 years ago it was unclear to me but I think it's undeniable at this point that MSNBC is clearly trying to be a wing of the democratic party, but they really aren't helping very much (i'd go so far as to say they could be hurting) because they don't have their shit together. But MSNBC isn't doing this for the same reason as Fox - MSNBC saw how effective and lucrative Fox's scheme is and are trying to imitate it in order to make money the old fashioned way, whereas Fox is directly subsidized I would bet.

I think we should give the South what they always wanted and kick out every state South of Virginia and Kentucky, west of Illinois, Iowa, and MN, and east of Nevade and Oregan, sans Colorado, Florida, and New Mexico.

I don't see how it could be worse than it is right now. I don't really think the physical voting system itself is rigged, it's the electoral process that's rigged. Put it online, hire the best people in the country to engineer it, and I don't see why it can't be done.
