Ever since i have known my housemate (bout 3 years) he always tells me these detailed plans he has to learn something/do something/achieve something but never actually does any of it. Since i have known him he has proper enthusiastically described that he's: gonna learn the guitar, learn the violin, start producing music, go on elaborate holidays, start boxing, learn to program computers, get a video camera and start making videos and many other things i don't remember.

It's not just a passing mention either he will talk about whatever it is non- stop for weeks and even got a guitar for christmas one year but didn't even learn how to play a single chord. Most recently he is saying that he's gonna be really good at downhill biking with his crap mountain bike because he can ride through town quickly lol. Whenever he talks to me about these things i am always supportive and encouraging of course but i find it hard to be when i know that it 98% won't happen. How do i tell him to stop being a mug and actually do one of these things without sounding like a tnuc?

It had it's moments

It's one of those shows that I never make any active effort to watch, but if I'm on my parents sofa flicking through the channels and it shows up I almost always enjoy it.

He talked about producing before i even contemplated it haa. He never downloaded a DAW and i've been producing ever since. Also we both started learning guitar at a similar time, he cant play anything and i am reasonably good now.

Might say ok we will have a downhill bike race, if i win you can never bore me with your pipe dreams ever again, if you win i have to go out of my way to help you achieve these things lol.
