Twitter beef is pretty lame and I don't know either Benton or Compa personally (though I did delete Compa off FB cos his constant pseudo-Mala statuses were annoying me), I've seen Compa play twice and both were enjoyable sets and he's got a couple of decent tunes, much prefer Benton's tunes and sets though if I'm honest. TMSV's Dem A Talk was better than either of their versions though and I'm pretty sure it came out first, so TMSV wins really, Compa's remix was so boring in comparison.

see this is probably the reason Compa catches hate from within the scene. travelling from Yorkshire, or wherever the fuck, to croydon, to play for an hour for free is an expense most aspiring producers probably can't afford.

thus attracting resentment. also gives promoters the idea that people playing for free is fine. which is bullshit imo. even if they're complete unknown you should at least be offering to pay their travel expenses.

It's like the same as one might feel at the idea of doing a sick internship in London but knowing that you can't because only kids with parents who can support them will be able to do it. same difference.

what's jokes though is that the ppl who are annoyed about it act like they wouldn't be doing the same, given the same privileges.

gentrification of the underground etc etc blah blah this shit happens all the time. i blame fact magazine.

That argument goes completely against the main argument of him being big headed and egotistical. If that was so he would not only refuse to play for free but charge a lot despite being fully capable of playing for free.

So he gets hate for 2 things that completely contradict each other lol.

Compa got popular too quickly that was his downfall, big up him for ignoring the hate and just keep doing what hes doing. I've always enjoyed his music, his radio shows and his sets.. isn't that what counts?

I actually understand the DMZ bootlegging hate though, although I put that down to naivety rather than him conciously trying to make his name bigger.

the dmz bootlegs were how i found out about him tbf

i also like a lot of his tunes but sumat that kind of annoys me is when he carpet bombs links on fb on like 2/3 pages at a time

It seems he cannot win whatever he does, by doing me a huge favour he is apparently attracting resentment, I have also played countless shows for free and the event itself had zero budget and was a unique weekly event.

And it's interesting that you again are I have to assume an established member that has created another alias as you are worried about people knowing who you are.

I'm mates with both of them, loads of producers shit on Will before they meet him. I've heard it firsthand. Didn't even realize this beef had happened lol.

Childish tings imo, who cares.. Don't need to bring peoples private lives into shit just cos you can nowadays thanks to social media.

Will works hard for what he does, just like the rest of us. Ben's a joker, all the slating in this thread is unnecessary.

You can tell this forum has really gone to shit as of late.

plus it ain't a competition who's better than who, an attitude that's helped ruin dubstep.

No community anymore, just people bitching and arguing nowadays.
