now exactly at 0:45 you have two kicks they seem to be just a slight fraction too close you might bump the second one notch over and see how it sounds. I wasn't digging the intro honestly but the track is well produced and it seems to fit.
Thanks man, I try to avoid that sound too haha, but I liked the way it turned out so I decided to use it. If I think we're talking about the same thing at :45, those kicks are that close on purpose for a quick ba-dum feel, but I'll switch things around and see if it helps the flow. Tbh, the intro was a rough attempt so I can understand the gripes with it as is haha.
As for your song, I actually like it a lot, but I think those crazy bass sounds tend to sound better stereoized and made huge, the mono bass sounds just dont pack enough punch I think. The drums sound nice, I think you could tone down the snare a bit but everything sounds pretty well mixed around besides.

Once it drops though, very nice tune, you've got your basses dialled although I would've personally preferred a hard hitting sub instead of a rim shot - but that's literally a personal preference - the snare still sits well!
Good sound selection, it fits well, maybe work on giving everything a bit more space but other than that it's tight!
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah some of the layered organ-y sounds in the beginning clash pretty hard and I do need to reel them in, but I think its more in the midrange? I'll have to go check it again. And I agree on the space.. it's actually what I'm working on learning the most atm, I always make tracks that feel like your head is inside a box with speakers on every side haha.
When I first listened to your track I wasn't sure how I liked the first bassline, but for a self-claimed old dude its a pretty sweet banger and I actually kinda like that first riff after hearing it all together.. You mod your bass pretty well and keep it interesting the whole time, and the second drop with the snares on 2 and 4 goes pretty hard, by far my favorite part. I can't really tell you much else, it sounds like you know more than me which is a good thing I guess

Thanks, glad you liked the song. I use FL9 -- but I'll be on ten when I know it's not buggy, haha.
To be completely honest, I don't really like your song

Objectively though, I think you should use some other drum samples--if you really need any I can send some to you. That bass synth sounds pretty sweet but I think you ruin it by stuffing that soulja boy acapella over it. Also, I feel like constant sub just takes the oomph out of using it in the first place, but that's just imo. The EQing is pretty good, but the acapella just seems out of nowhere.. I guess if you wanna use it, cutting the bass to interact with the vocals more might help.

Yeah, the intro's kinda thrown in. I'm not sure what you mean about breaking it down cause there's a literal breakdown (in a metal/hardcore sense) in it and just most of the pieces have entirely different feels?
I definitely like the outdoor atmosphere you used in your track though, completely makes the song imo. I think a slightly woodier snare might fit well and keep the outdoorsy feeling going, but it's a pretty sick track as it is.. that 'wub-wub' has juuuust the right amount of reverb to let it poke through the mix--you put everything together well.
Cortex wrote:@710 - I'm REALLY feeling this tune. Listened to it at pretty high vol. on my studio monitors and i have to say, that synth is beast. Love it man.
Thanks dude, glad you liked it--the only reason I even wrote it is because I liked where that bass synth ended up haha.
I'm diggin your track, I kinda like some of the more electric sounding synth work, I like the fat beefy snare too. Pretty good mix as far as I can tell too, It'll probably pretty awesome finished ..so uh.. finish it? haha
