I'm furious, I can't believe is come to this, Spurs are going to fuck us over again next week. There's no way I'm renewing my season tkt at this rate. Bunch if stnuc but I'm the real mug for sitting on a coach for 12 hours yesterday to witness that piece of shit performace. All i wanted was one goal so i could give it to those inbred mackem wankers. Shout to my boys who got shift at half time for nothing. Dick head police .

Stop going to games mate.
I've been to 4x 1-0 wins this season and the 7-1 to Blackburn.
Anyway, if you're following the AST stuff and what's going on you're going to hate but understand the fact that Arsenal will sell RvP regardless this season.
If you're not following it - I'll break it down:
- Arsenal run at 90%+ capacity
- Stadium pays for wages and debts atm.
- Club level ticket sales (40% of revenue are down year on somewhere like 12%)
- 400 STs have only been used ONCE this season.
- The money made from Cesc+Nasri paid for Arteta, Mertersacker, Gervinho, Park, Miyachi, Jenkinson & Oxo-Chambo.
- 71 players on Arsenal payroll totalling £90m p/a on wages.
- £55m was made available to Wenger before Jan. (This £55m sum includes wages.)
- Should Arsenal fail to qualify for CL this season, £45m of that £55m will be re-absorbed for the club's wages et al.
- Should Arsenal fail to qualify for CL for two seasons in a row, there is a £35m buffer set aside to pay stadium debts + Interest.
- Should Arsenal fail to qualify for CL for two seasons in a row, they may also be found in breach of FFP, as their model is built on
Arsenal qualifying year on year. (CL brings in £45m for the club as a guarantee).
- The £35m from Queensland Road project cannot be touched until late 2012 - therefore is NOT available for transfers in the
new window.
- The board will not entertain ANY offers from Red & White Holdings (Uzmanov is willing to inject £100m atm - the board will not
agree on it as it means offering Uzmanov a place on the board.)
What this translates to is:
David Dein got sacked, (and was not replaced) because he was in bed with Uzmanov's camp. Wenger was given the
option to pick his own boss, but negotiated control from the board regarding player wages in the process.
He opted to run a utopian style system, tying players into big contracts (when their performances do not warrant it.)
This has essentially sapped the money from the club, as other clubs cannot match the wages of the likes of Denilson,
Diaby, Almunia, Bendtner. Almunia is STILL on more money than WS13, JW19, MA8, LK6 - and he's not been involved
in first team duties for nearly two years. There is a whole bunch of players in this same situation - they are unwilling
to leave (to take pay cuts). The only assests Arsenal have, they have to sell in order to keep the club running.
Therefore as soon as someone comes good, they are sold. The Cesc & Nasri situation were the culmination of Wenger's
wage structure policy and his inability to get rid of the dross. The board were unwilling to lower their valuations of players.
My conclusion is it is imperative that Arsenal qualify for CL this year above any other, however, this MAY not stop RvP being
sold anyway. The contract negotiation stuff in the newspaper is business speak for "come and get him Madrid, we need £40m."
Gazidis has stated in no uncertain terms that RvP won't be sold... this will work one of two ways... clubs will say "fine, we'll
collect him next year for free," or "we better pay up."
Considering Mourinho is on his way out of Madrid, the president may or may not come calling for RvP, but realistically, that's the
only place he could go because Barcelona are in a worse financial position than us.
There is also the issue of the squad letting Wenger down again. There's like 10 players injured again. Check it out.
http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_ ... _table.php
10 out of 22 squad members... (under 21's don't need to be announced, which is why it looks like Arsenal have loads of
players.)
Then look at the next five games. Tottenham (h), Liverpool (a), Newcastle(h) Everton(a) Aston Villa(h).
Bar a stroke of luck at the NLD, and praying Liverpool/Chelski have a similar meltdown to our own (which could be possible if
Napoli shaft them like Milan did with us) I don't think Arsenal will make 4th place this year.
As it stands - Arsenal are fucked.

Haha that post has depressed me drastically!
The stat about 400 season tkts only being used once or less disgusts me..
The NLD is gonna be intense, I hate that sick feeling in the half hour leading up to the game. We have to win that, its imperative.

Dont think i've ever been less confident going into a NLD. The players were so flat against Sunderland and the spuds will go into the game expecting to win.ASMATIK wrote:Haha that post has depressed me drastically!

This is something Arsenal fans need. A shot of realism.
This is not a quandry of a problem, the board room need to grow a set and take some calculated gambles
on key areas.
- Are they willing to let Almunia, Djourou, Squillaci, Arshavin, Walcott, Chamakh, Denilson,
Gibbs, Rosicky, Vela & Park go for less than their "Market value?"
Other teams could make up the wage deficits on the basis that these players go to them for next to nothing.
What that would do is allow the wage situation room to change and top tier players can actually be paid what
they're supposed to be paid.
- Will they THEN be able to wrestle control of the wage structure away from Wenger?
This is the most important thing to do. YES he has a degree in economics, but his project hasn't worked.
The last thing you want to do when offloading 13 players for less than their worth is to allow Wenger
to do the same thing again. That will kill the club. They need a "football bloke" to handle contracts - it
doesn't have to be Dein again, it just has to be someone that isn't inept at their job. Wenger is a manager
of football players - he's not a HR manager, he shouldn't be in control of the payroll.
- Hire a better marketing team.
Quite simply, shit - Gazidis and his team made £500k in a bonus this year. Look at what he did to earn it.
Utd gained £100m from DHL for TRAINING KITS!!
Liverpool got £40m from Adidas for shirts.
Arsenal got £14m from Nike shirts.
- Restructure back room staff.
Lewin, Primorac, Rice and Colbert are not good enough. These days you need departments of staff for training.
Defence coordination, Attack coordination, set piece/dead ball training and a cardio dept.
Man Utd have a rapid muscle building team for example. Look at Ronaldo, Nani, Valencia, Machieda, and Cleverly
They have great balance between pace and muscle as players. This isnt a freak accident, Utd have been doing it
for nearly a decade.

there are no women at Arsenal either.

Yeah, basically, what happened was Dein found both Kronke & Uzmanov.
The board warmed to Kronke and Kronke liked the idea of self-sustainability.
Uzmanov would have done essentially what Chelski did and financially doped
the club.
The board then ousted Dein because of his affection towards Uzmanov.
Uzmanov is about to reach the 30% threshold for a take over bid, BUT
Kronke doesn't want to sell.
Arsenal are worth approx. £1.2bn. In financial terms, Uzmanov could buy
6 or 7 of us. Kronke cannot.
The worrisome issue comes from premature reports that Kronke is grooming his
son to take the mantle at Arsenal. IF jr. does what the old man says then Arsenal
are in for a bit of a struggle. If jr. can be convinced otherwise and either inject
equity himself, or sack the board and instate his own team with their own fresh
approach, Arsenal will actually be in the best position for any football club on
the planet.
However, a few more years of stagnation and the whole lot will miss the boat.
The team will struggle to make mid table, Wenger will be off (having tied more
players down to 3 year extensions), they club won't afford the repayments on the
team (through attendance dropping off and not making CL) and commercial deals
will be off the table - because no one of any real calibre (both players and companies)
will want to be tied to Arsenal. The share price will drop and Kronke may decide to
cut his losses there.
Will Uzmanov or any other oligarch want to sink money into Arsenal at that point?
Boom.
These are all worst case scenarios - however, the first rule in business is plan for the worst
and hope for the best, I'm a fucking psychologist and even I know that.
