Any Londoner with distorted vinyl wanna stop by Transition and let them hear it? I received an email from them and they want to hear it. I'm thinking of sending my vinyl but if someone's closer that would be great.

Do they want to listen to the vinyl directly? Or will they be satisfied with WAV rips too?
I dont live anywhere near london unfortunately, but I can send them my rips...

Posting here as "my" angry thread is locked...

First: Sorry to express my frustration the way I did... I agree with Seckle: it is useless... and unfair towards people involved in this release.
If possible, please mods, delete it.

Second: The fact is that this record is expensive and expects to provide a huge sound texture. It does in a certain way...

To be more precise (and useful) about my record:
Both sides are distorted, especially the vocals in the begining of "Paradise Circus".

Go vinyl !

isn't that how it's meant to sound though? The radio rips from Mary Anne Hobbes show are slightly distorted

Yes, it tells us absolutely no quality control went into the release.

Well I believe that everyone's copy is distorted, but it seems that some are just more distorted than others...

i honestly dont understand people that bought two the whole point of a record is to be played and enjoyed not to be put away in a cupboard to be sold kinda annoying so they can rip some unsuspecting fan off at least those tracks will be on that LP should be good

yep its forthcoming on a distorted mp3 etc

and limited edition ceramic plate.

I had the opportunity to check a finished version recently, having listened to both sides on my turntable using a Shure 447 styli and cartridge and then comparing this to the mastered audio that was backed up at the time of the cut, I cannot hear any of the reported problems that people have been having.
If anyone wishes to send me a confirmed bad disc(which I will return) then i will gladly analyze it, but at this stage I suggest that if after checking that your stylus is working properly and correctly aligned as per the turntable and stylus manufacturers guide you still have problems then you should contact the company that sold you the record for a replacement.

I think it's also a matter of not knowing whether it was intended to sound like this or not...
I we would only know how the original sound. If it sounds exactly like how my vinyl sounds it wouldn't be a problem for me.
