not really in my class but there was a school for kids with mental disorders next to the house of a friend. We could see the playground fromm his balcony and we had hours of laughs. We entered inside two or three times. They were a lot of weirdos but probably our favourite one was that kid who apparantly hated walking and went running EVERYWHERE

I've noticed the UK has this very specific "stereotype" that isn't present in the US. It's kind of like a cultural fascination with people who are mentally disturbed and do things that have a somewhat of a "tragic" or ironic quality to them. I've taken a bunch of sociology classes so I think about this kinda shit lol.

But anyway, I first noticed it when I watched some British tv shows. I'd say Cassie from Skins represents it pretty well, but she's a little too "cool" (running with the popular kids) to represent it perfectly. There were a lot of characters in the Misfits that fit this stereotype. I can't remember specifics but I think there was one girl who had like a really sick and weak mom who could hardly get out of bed, and she would give her her meds, and she withheld them from the mom and ended up killing her because the mom was gonna turn her in to the police for doing something fucked up at school.

But this thread has many examples of that stereotype.




Anyway, on topic, there was this one crazy ass kid, who was also really smart, like savant-ish smart. He was always talking about building bombs and shit (in like 3rd grade). I remember we did this project in 2001 after 9/11 where we wrote "letters" to George Bush, but I don't remember the exact point of them. But anyway the kid went on and on about this bizarrely elaborate way that he wanted to torture bin Laden. Wish I could remember more specifics....

nah we couldn´t get inside so we were triying not to seek attention and act as we were mental kids, we couldn´t stop laughin though.
I forgot other kid we liked a lot, he was like extremly hyperactive and he was always licking/kissing people, we where always following his moves because he caused the 99% of the fights at the playground, normally when he kissed some autist

last week at my school's bar, on a normal (non-party) night a guy spent the whole time alone staring at the void; met him when i left and he asked me to log him into the school computers, meaning he is not even a student of the school. i was too drunk to properly type my login info, thus he told me to fuck right off? next day i find him alone in the bar again in a weird state, only this time he was staring at me and did for two hours. was still there yesterday as well - guy's not a student but spends all his time alone in the bar beeing creepy

When i was around 6, a few weeks after 9/11 the teacher said something about it and this kid went "WHEN THE WTC FELL, ME AND MY DAD WERE VEEERY HAPPY"

It only made sense to me a few years back tho when I remembered this story and realized where his weird accent was from, kid was pretty normal apart from that tho

There was this one prick in high school who started speaking standard german from one day to the other when actually he was swiss (imagine a scot speaking nothing but american english out of nowhere). Of course he got a lot of shit for it. I was forced to sit next to him during chemistry courses and the guy had a proper crush on Shevchenko, had a poster of him hanging in his locker and tried to draw his face on every piece of paper he ever touched. Not lying. He must've had a solid collection of a couple of houndred (!) drawings by the time we hit about eighteen. Whenever we played footie in PE he'd wear a tee with Shevchenko's face printed on the front and his name and number on the back. Started growing a beard out of lack of personal hygiene as soon as the first couple of hairs pushed through. He became a proper Thor dweller afterwards, began to think he was of nordic descent and shit like that. I still see him sometime at uni and even had two courses with him. I looked that up; costs about 8 grand a semester. Poor guy and a fucking hypocrite at that.
