I have a really old pre order copy which gave like super early alpha/beta access. Great game but worth waiting till release (larger community - servers are fairly limited, a hand full of full -100 ping servers)

They didn't 'need' to do much. That was the beautiful thing - it just needed a graphics upgrade and a bit of balancing.

not interested in bf3 at all, it was a major step back compared to bc2 and bf2, while i enjoyed the graphic overhaul and new engine it failed to meet the hype for me
that and it seems like EA is pushing Dice to turn it into a new COD franchise for them

When you join up with EA you sell your soul (and if you're a quality studio you eventually get ate and have your beloved franchises pushed out as pieces of shit)

Oh man bf2mc was so hype. Then the mod crew came and took it up notch.

well the demo for the new XCom went live on steam today, just got done and to copy my impressions I posted on RPS
I know the demo didn’t go very deep, but it just didn’t feel like X-Com. I understand the hand holding tutorial mission is a must since no one seems to read manuals anymore, but the game just feels dumbed down, at least that’s the impression I got from the demo.
It was fun, but not in the same sense I get when playing the originals or Xenonauts, that and all the cinematic mission briefings I could do without, I wanna get to my tactical combat.
Also encountered some lovely animation bugs and such, managed to blow an enemy off the map with the rocket which launched him into some grey void. Also when firing at an enemy directly next to me the troops fired forward instead of aiming at him which was kind of surprising with all the emphasis on the cinematic style cuts in between.
My hype meter for this has gone down, but I’ll probably still get it as tactical strategy games are too far and in between.
