Do you need to give evidence of what you've actually done with the money? I've seen 'Dubstep' projects on Kickstarter where some American bedwetter has got themselves $5k, but since the funding was received all their FB/SC accounts have been closed...

Dunno about evidence. Indiegogo differs from Kickstarter too, in that you can take out the raised money at any time (I think!).
