I reckon this thread needs to be removed or something cos its causing disagreements and dubstep is about loving one another and spreading the love lol but on a serious note this should now be the last comment on this thread. Rob sparx is right, but so is everyone else because at the end of the day everyone has their own taste in dubstep and for this reason alone is what makes dubstep so great, how shit would it be if everyone just loved Benga or Skream etc etc. and no one gave the 'brostep' people a chance, there would be no variety thats what would happen, brostep and jumpup aint shit, its just different and isnt loved by everyone. I know some metal heads who dont even like metallica but love bands that other metal heads would consider the 'brostep' producers of metal music, but theyre still loved. I can guarantee as well that they dont have these gay arguments like we do on their own forums.
Love you all and love dubstep, keep dubstep alive, dont kill it with arrogant remarks and arguing. Call me your dubstep lovin' hippie
CASE CLOSED.

Does anyone refer to the UK as Europe though? No. Quite clear to see he's talking about France, Belgium and Germany etc.

People from the UK don't see themselves as part of Europe - they have a sovereign currency and curry houses.

we also look down on/violently oppose the concept of mullet hair cuts and leather bands round our wrists, we dont know how to drink and our social welfare systems including public transport, healthcare and education are exceedingly sub-standard thank you very much!

I do believe that the brostep thing poses a problem in the scene, same with jump-up, though, honestly and while I'm a proponent of healthy, intelligent discussions with well thought-out arguments, this is one problem that can't be solved by talking about it. This argument has been reoccurring 4 times per week for almost 4 years or some shit now and it clearly hasn't done anything.
If you want people to be exposed more to the darker more atmospheric and bassier side of dubstep, I believe it's just time to
1) make more yourself
2) only DJ that stuff out, don't compromise
3) start your own night or label
etc etc.
As for Robx Sparx, it's odd that you don't believe that the DJ should be educating too much. Instead of talking about the issue, calling out names, etc, in a thread, perhaps it is time to make yourself the educator and only do the deep stuff you enjoy to actually make a difference in the scene instead of sitting back and telling the rest of the dubstep community how what they're doing is wrong?

indeed.

i don't remember that at all... from what i recall: upon first listening to dubstep lots of people think that it should be broken into subgenres because they dont understand how such a diverse array of sounds could only have one name. they would then post this on dsf and a handfull of people would explain how opposed they were to this because it ruined dnb....
for the 4-5 years i have listened to dubstep there has ALWAYS been a very vocal concern that it would go stale and then splinter into a variety of expressionless subgenres.
exactly waht i was thinking. these end is nigh threads have been appearing weekly for years, normally by someone who is a relative newcomer (not saying this as a negative just that after being on the forum for a month or two its becomes obviously unnecessary to add to the amount of 'x is ruined by y' waste threads) and they are 'concerned'' that the wobble is going to overwhelm the blips they've just started to hear or vice versa.
could you say one of the reasons it hasnt become stale is due to people being that pissed off with the shite they are forced to look in other directions ultimately making the genre more diverse. so in a couple of years we could be thanking brostep for pushing dubstep into even more unknown terratorries?
i think its good and important that everyone disagrees people should just stop taking it all so personally and deal wit the fact that not everyone thinks the same tunes are banging
