What the fuck has happened here... You weren't told to leave, it was suggested that maybe this place isn't for you, but I don't think that's the case man. You just have to learn how this place works.

You now understand what 95% of the people on the forum look for in dubstep, so I won't get into that
The vast majority of people on this forum believe in paying for music, as a few people on here have to make a living off of it. It's a living, you'd be hacked off if you were only paid half a wage cause folk had been steeling the other half

You didn't have a great start, but continuing this nonsense is making it worse. Stick around for a bit, do what you need to in the production forum and learn from these people. Don't come in guns blazing like you run the place.

And fuck me, don't knock where people are from, you have no idea about their situation.

Its all the same to me.
So wait, if you don't care about genres and categories why did you try to argue that Anti-War Dub isn't dubstep?
Wow, I just hopped on this thread and saw this ........

I'm honestly making a huge effort to be more polite and courteous on this forum as of late, but I don't know if I can take this....I'm scared to view the previous page to see what this guy has said. I'm just going to ignore it all together so I don't lose my shit.

You went to see coki. Paid 75 pounds. That 75 pounds goes to his fee for the performance and running the club, it has nothing to do with the music that you stole.

"I stole my friends shoes. But I also bought his laptop from him. So we're even"

Do you see the logic gap?

Wrong artists get a massive cut. And there was tons of people there. And no its not the same. None of that stuff you mentioned has any play in the monetary system. If my friends shoes made him money, I stole them but repaid him by buying him a laptop of the same or greater value that earns him money, then yes, its completely valid.

@ eh I just feel bad for you dude. Get out while you still can. You dont want to be like that the rest of your life

That has nothing to do with anything...I lived in Greenwich. Look it up. Means absolutely nothing. Actually what it means is you have higher taxes. And Andover isnt that special. Definitely doesnt give anyone the right to be a dbag. Ever

If he sets a price he's willing to sell his laptop for and you pay it that transaction is through. You still owe him a pair of shoes though.

If Coki gets paid a lot for playing a set, and you steal his tracks, but pay for a ticket to the set. YOU HAVE ONLY PAID FOR THE SET. The tracks are in no way paid back. Unless you bought the set + digital discography ticket, and didn't buy the discography. ;-)

If you steal a track and then pay to see a set, it is not "completely valid". It is still theft. Yes, you paid for the set, but if you honestly cannot see how you would be in the wrong, then this argument is fundamentally futile.

I don't think your version of the analogy correlates to the reality of the situation. What do you mean by "if my shoes made him money," and a laptop that "earns him money."

Even if you did purchase a laptop, you still must compensate for the loss of his shoes.

@did Well obviously any type of stealing is wrong. Im just saying I spend tons of money to see artists play live so its not like Im complete mooch. But there is a difference between pirating and stealing. Im just taking something off the internet that someone else uploaded. Whats the difference between downloading it from the internet, or borrowing someones CD and putting it on my itunes, then giving the cd back. There is no difference. That cd that was uploaded to the internet had to have been bought at some point

@ corn I did compensate for his loss of shoes by the loptop being of greater or equal value. Even trade. I understand what you mean though, because it should be that I have paid the for music AND the concert, so hes still missing the music payment. I get it. I dont buy cds or vinyls, and itunes has a limited selection. And plus what I said above
