@Ascian
Thanks for the feed man, really good! I have only EQed the drums, so the bassline is extremely heavy still. I've been experimenting removing parts in the drop, so this isn't oficial yet. I had a choir come in 8 bars later, but although it sounded nice, there were just to many sounds to a point it became confusing. I will be reuploading newer versions soon.
Now, about your WiP.
The name suggests quite a lot, the vocals make it sound like a porn movie lol. Haven't really seen any jazzy dubstep, but I found it very interesting. The panning at 1:33 is really cool. I'm not very fond of those electric snares, but i guess they fit pretty well, considering theyre not loud as fuck as in other songs I've listened.

I think I love giving feedback! Give decent feedback on my track and I'll return the favour.

@ kidstrange - Good stuff mate, I like the overall feel and progression of the track. Few things - When it falls away at 1min 23, I can tell that is the effect you are going for however for me it just needs something else in there.. Some kind of incidental maybe.. At 1min 57 when the crunchy top end comes out, that sounds really nice great job on that. I think your sounds generally need to be EQ'd more especially in the intro and the bass sound just a TAD too loud maybe.. I'm not sure, just may be worth giving it a listen with rested ears and the bass down 1.5dB or so. Great stuff though, really good work!

@ samkablaam - Intro... Like the strings, not the usual light string vibe which is good.. Field recording panned to the right is good in contrast with what is happening on the left, really helps the glitchy vibe.... As I'm still listening, I'm thinking the intro is going on too long but now the vocal has dropped in which is nice.. It needs more processing though, did you low cut @ 300Hz? There is a higher frequency in there that needs notching out too, just over 1kHz or so. Needs a little verb as well as it isn't sitting incredibly well in the mix.. Definitely good stuff though. Percussion is really nice.. Liking this tune a lot man

@ alexvont12 - Immediately loving it... Can't think of any crit so far, perhaps some verb on the piano sound decaying around 700ms. The bass fits well and I like it, I think they needs to be perhaps a tiny bit lower in the mix on my monitors over here. When elements fall away @ 55 seconds, it definitely needs something else here, some sparse delayed hats or something perhaps @ 1min 22 I like the sound of the riser but did you automate the master volume there? It sounds kinda like it... Not digging that.. 1min 50 seconds is very nice. Coming toward the end now.. Overall, really enjoyed it mate VERY nice. Would like to hear this when you have worked on it more!!

@ Randomic - Feeding back as I listen, right.. Piano - Nice and it fits in very well with the piano @ 14seconds.. Static needs to be turned right down though, easily a good 6/7dB imo.. Filter out some of the frequencies between 500Hz and 1kHz too. Very nice as the elements drop away. I really like the percussion and the snare sound is awesome. Good reverse crash into the crash there at 1min 09. Great bassline too! If this is the vibe you are going for after 1min 36 then that's awesome and it sounds great.. To make it a lot 'heavier' it'd be worth trying to take out the melody just at the drop and then introducing it 8 bars or so later. Really like the bass sound though mate, great job on this. Maybe some of the more undesirable frequencies notched out to make it sit better in the mix and not take up so much room. I can see from your waveform that after the drop there, your track loses a lot of its dynamics and it's definitely because the bass sound is massive

Here is my WIP, pretty leftfield, playing around with Jazz chords. A lot of mood changes so give it a decent listen!

Ascian - I like it. Nice chords I'm a real fan of that kind of beat and you've got this all working well on top of the synths and other instruments. Good vocals I would like to hear a nice reverse sub in the drop :-)

DreamThief - Cool song, a lot better than the first one I heard from you. The intro felt a little long, but I think it was because it was mostly just percussion. Maybe add a light pad in the background or something. The drop was good too, but the silence right before it felt a little long and the build could have used some sort of riser imo. The mix is decent from what I can tell. You're getting better dude, keep making songs and experimenting with your sound.

@DreamThief awesome percussion, very creative. love the old school dub vibes, well produced and mixed too

@Ascian like the intro but you might want to have it build just a liiiittle bit faster. sexy song though hahah

Krispies - Super awesome song. I like the little pitchy sounds after the drop. You must have a crazy workflow if you just started that this morning :P

A reverse sub? Ahh okay mate, good idea. So do you mean a sub filtered so the LPF cutoff closes rather than opens? I think that could work really well, cheers for the advice!

Right, starting your tune off now - Love the fast delay. That is the perfect effect for that sound. Nice filtered bass. "Brrr" vocal sounds sick. Pitch bend / flange or whatever it is on the tom is really nice.... Kicking in now OOOPPHH. Sick mate. Really authentic but very fresh vibe to this one - Can imagine this going off in raves as well as at a Brazilian street party!

Krispies - Thanks for the feedback, glad you find it sexy! haha. Will look into making it shorter though, cheers!

Your tune - Immediately, the drums work well with that first synth... Oh, it stopped all of a sudden, not sure about that.. I think if you want to go for that "pause" then drop the drums out as well and have the bass with the filter opening in there to introduce it. The drop I really like, the bass is very good and goes well with the song! Nice work mate

Ok. Well I think you did a good job at panning the lead around. The build up is sorta cool. Do you use stereo spread at all? Hearing bass in the middle and high frequencies panned out sound good. Also maybe turn your synth down so the drums shine through more. To me it seems like your intro is fine then the drop is where it sounds too spacey. Is there a kick when it drops? I can't hear. Right now I'm listening through acceptable laptop speakers but earlier it was through monitors.

@Dreamthief - This bassline sounds a lot like Haunted by DMZ, does it not? :?
Anyway the drop is sick, i'm liking the fact you've given the bass a lot of room. Maybe think about dropping the level on the kick drum? Snare's sounding good though.

@Krispies - Loving the track after 51 secs the bassline is killing it, and im not normaly a fan of drumstep. Personaly I think the arp in the intro could do with a little work it doesn't seem to fit somehow the Phaser/Flanger doesn't do it for me.
Percussion is well levelled, and the reverb on the snare sounds mint, Nice one!

My latest WIP

Started life as an attempt at a funk song, but that soon changed. Needs a lot more development I know, but feedback is welcome

Cheers

@Specimen-Yarp That sound at the start is nice, really, but the first half of the track is not dubstep. I'd change that intro, because when the dubstep kicks in it's really nice. Maybe get some more strings in there creating some different melodies, then work on the bass. I like the bass, the flow of it, but it sounds a little muddy, could do with some work.
Overall, really like it. Would maybe like to hear some more percussion in it tho.

@Krispies
Sounds so cool haha. Love drumstep, this is wicked, but sorry, don't really have anything to add :(

@DreamThief Loving this. Love the percussion and the claps in this. The little downswoops etc throughout are nice, the melody. Love when the bass comes in around :40
Really awesome bro, so fucking different..

---------------------------------------------

Heres one I been working on today, keeping the tribal style with this :D
I really tried to keep the drums evolving and changing, keeping it varied throughout the track. Hope I succeeded.
