I gotta side with Static on this one, it would piss me off if someone said to me that skrillex "basically defines the genre"

Lol, you ever seen a group of people try more awkwardly to convince themselves they like that music?ehbrums1 wrote:I live to serve, i think i posted this one in the original thread but I'm not completely sure.Reverb wrote:This thread just aint got the pop of the old thread.

They literally all look like they`re lost in the music.garethom wrote:Lol, you ever seen a group of people try more awkwardly to convince themselves they like that music?ehbrums1 wrote:I live to serve, i think i posted this one in the original thread but I'm not completely sure.Reverb wrote:This thread just aint got the pop of the old thread.

My current playlist contains tracks from Kromestar, Plastcian, Bar9, Skream, and Skrillex. Bite me.
I see your point, and I'm sure there's no shortage of kids like that. But think about all the media coverage on skrillex vs el-b or skream's older stuff. More likely than not, the ones telling them what true dubstep is are hipsters just scoffing at them. They think it's what dubstep is because A, it's more likely than not all they've heard, and B, all they've seen through the eyes of the media.Maccaveli wrote:It's just the arrogance of these people that pisses me off. I consider myself fairly knowledgable on music as a whole, but I'm fully aware of my ignorance in just about every genre except hip hop and dubstep. There's no shame in not knowing everything about a genre you've only been listening to for a short time, it takes years to fully understand the history of any musical genre. If he thought that Skrillex defined the genre then conceded that he was wrong, nothing wrong with that. It's the pig-headed arrogance of continuing to argue, and to actually insult, someone who's obviously more clued-in about the genre that gets me. And to think the truth is only a wiki search away...
Im also a wankaholic.rayman612 wrote:dj wanka is probably the funniest thing in existence

Oh I'm not saying their ignorance is their fault, I'm saying their stubbornness is lolcmgoodman1226 wrote:I see your point, and I'm sure there's no shortage of kids like that. omg, mind blowing "drop" at 2:58 ..it made me think of a re-invented definition of "drop", since it's not a "bass drop", it's a "dub echo drop"..leyenda303 wrote:
