If Sinners and Level Nine are anything to go by, I love the new direction Mala is taking and some new stuff would be a nice way to continue the label. That being said, it seems a lot of Mala's attentions are focused on Deep Medi at the moment, and Loefah must be busy with Swamp 81. Don't really know what Coki's up to, he seems quite secretive (or maybe I'm not well enough informed.)
Sinners is actually fairly old, 2006 I think Same with Miracles. Mala Seems to still release his older stuff as well as new stuff and I don't think thats a bad thing at all, most of his stuff seems timeless to me. Yeah what exactly is Coki upto?

I hope to god this is true and either your not a shit stirrer or loefah was playing around.
spongebob wrote:i think its fair to say there will prob be nothing coming out on dmz anymore lol. kinda obvious isnt it.
BUT
they should def do a ltd repress of the back catalogue, vinyl only. i dont know why they dont. they could just do a series of special 10"s or something, just so its not the same as the 12s. or 7"s even! i would really like to see that

i seriosuly doubt it because the masters have been lost for DMZ001 and 002 so there is aboslutely no chance of them ever coming out agian. Its going to be something new and fresh like Eyez or Education, reckon it has to be a mala release but im kind of praying for a surprise loefah release with some heavy new tunes..Ha as if that would ever happen.

this really did happen. he could have just been fucking around though. it was over a month ago. if he was telling the truth then maybe we would have seen something by now...

As far as I know Sinners was released in 09, but I have no idea when he made it so you could well be right.
I agree Mala's stuff is timeless (I absolutely worship Mala [and Coki, Loefah and Pokes too, for that matter]) but I still reckon it would be better to get brand new tunes than a dubplate we all know.
If nobody had told me Level Nine was by Mala, I would never have guessed - that's what I find so exciting about it. More of that please.
And yes, Coki is undoubtedly one of the most enegmatic in the scene, I couldn't even begin to imagine what he has up his sleeve.

we def know that mala has at least 2 releases coming this year (that should mean at least 4 tunes) and he has already confirmed that 'living different' is 1 of them...i'm guessing 2 of the other 3 will be 'return to space' and 'eyez'...
if those 3 tunes and another 1 come out this year who gives a fuck what label they are on...
there will probably be another dmz release anyway...they can't leave it on 014...
