I spent a couple hours trying to spam my last Reese file via balloon-hoisted-laser. It went up pretty good but got shot down when it went over camden. Can the admins help with this?

According to the documentation, the Camden Air Space Defense Initiative went online in 1998. There appears to be nothing that can be done about it. For the time-being you're going to have to use the new slower dsf forum to convey your Reese files, until we can develop some type of radar neutral balloon. We've done some testing, and it is not the skin of the balloon that is showing a ping on the CASD radar, but the drop in gas density due to the volume of helium within the balloon.

Riddles is working on an aerosolized particulate aluminum mixture that could be introduced into the balloon before lofting which would increase the net density of the balloon to roughly 98% that of air. He is encountering too much settling of the particulate aluminum within the balloon which is producing radar returns, though he believes with the proper selection of a transparent material, a lens effect can be produced from the balloon's outer skin's focusing of sunlight, causing a distributive toroidal convective current within the balloon, thus preventing the settling of the aluminum particulate.

Riddles believes he will have the appropriate material selected within the next few days, and we can begin prototyping from there.

Unfortunately, this solution is not complete, in that Reese file lofting can only occur during daylight ours, and potentially, only within +/- 2-4 hours of the sun's zenith.

It is a bit of a hack, but we feel it will produce a better user experience than using the new forum.

We've ordered some large green vinyl appliques laser cut in the shape of giant weed leaves. You can attach them to your balloon. This should provide safe passage during its assent.
