Call it what you will at the end of the day i still call it that. All music has sub genres and yes i love haters, they make the world go round. Brostep is not a negative description but i think some of these clowns think it is. Notice i haven't dropped one name in my posts, thats because theres nobody to call out imo. The name droppers are essentially nobody's which is why they name drop so much. Anyways let's make music, those of us who actually do that is.
Cheers for beeing safe on a thread full of asshattery.
But would you consider yourself to be doing the same thing as people like Martyn or Untold or Pangaea?
Tbh I can respect anyone who's making the music they like or listening to what they like, but the fact that people can argue for twenty pages about that sort of stuff suggests that maybe we're not all one big happy family with a united cause any more...
Never were one big happy family imo. What does that have to do with anything anyway?

Basically, I don't mind people listening to / making whatever they want to whether I like it or not, and I don't see any more point whingeing about the fact that I don't like Borgore than I do whingeing about the fact that I don't like the taste of grapefruit, but I get wound the fuck up by all this "hey man, lets not have subgenres in dubstep, it's all dubstep, dubstep is all about the diversity" stuff that always comes up in these threads.
The fact that half the people on this forum really don't like the music that the other half love and get into endless pointless arguments about it suggests that it would be easier just to admit that hey, y'know, maybe this isn't someone messing up the thing you love, maybe it's just something different now.
Edit: what I mean is - as long as you believe that "all this is dubstep, there are no subgenres", a dubstep producer doing stuff you don't like seems like something to get worked up about. I've accepted that some stuff I just don't like, and listen to stuff I do like, but that seems to me like a musical division...

You should see the threads on citrusforum.com. Those diatribes are acidic!
