I'm not sure if this helps but was it Goth trad's sandsnake remix?the wiggle baron wrote:
Goth trad/vivek were big. Again, that good old dark low slung stuff, and the system was just starting to get cranked properly. Some real heavy hitters, and one tune from either trad or vivek, i cant remember that was fecking MENTAL!!!! It got a reload, but its a tune that starts out fairly standard I spose, as an intro to a head nodder. But then out of nowhere comes this absoloutely fist pumping techy drop that absoloutely smashed it. Possible tune of the night!
Joe Nice. It was an excellent choice!clifford_- wrote:was it chef or joe nice that played 'pump up the jam'

I learnt from last year that you just have to head a bit further inside. I know it was hot and wet this year but not getting interrupted by people barging by more than made up for it for me.wilson wrote:Yeah found myself spending more time letting people get past me going in/out of room 1 than actually getting a good old head-down skank on.
Its a shame man, but i viewed dmz as one of the few nights where i wasnt expecting to be putting up with all the gurners going for it. It wouldn't of ruined my night if it wasnt for the fact that it was so busy they were constantly rubbing their gurns in my face. Plus the epic amount of money & time it took me to get there and get in. I tried pretty hard to get involved but it just wasnt happening, £100 on a night out to not be able to move is just a bit of a downer for a self employed dj/producer.Moultz wrote:I don't really get how you can let these little things like being too crowded and certain people acting differently spoil your night.
I get what you mean. It was like that for me last year. Believe it or not, this year was much much better. It was actually aggressive last year. Don't know if you go to the normal DMZ nights, but I'd recommend those if you haven't been, and to stay away from the birthday dos.mymatedave wrote:Its a shame man, but i viewed dmz as one of the few nights where i wasnt expecting to be putting up with all the gurners going for it. There's been more lighting around ever since they shifted the decks and put up that random netting stuff on the ceilings. I hear that's all the rage in the clubs these days.the wiggle baron wrote:Oh, and one final thought. I dont know if this new stage set up has been around for a while, and if theres normally that much lighting around it, or if was just cos the boiler room guys were in...but I couldn't believe the lights that were left on for soooo long! There were 3/4 big disco light things swamping the crowd right up until loefah got them turned off. I couldnt believe how much they killed the vibe for me! I was every now and again noticing that I suddenly felt much more into the music and was feeling it more, before then noticing that all the lights had just gone off for a few seconds before coming back on again. Dunno if it was a mistake, or if it was done for the boiler room guys, but I really didn't like the lights being there. Didn't seem to fit with the idea of DMZ to me, but I guess im not mala, coki or loefah! I do hope it all wasn't there cos of the boiler room guys needing something for the stream (the big spot light in the middle, lights on the stage/crowd originally and the occasional strobe) cos I go in to DMZ with very little expectations on the music (in that I know ill never know whats coming!) but for me the DMZ vibe is much more specific. To change the feel of the night so that it can be streamed seems a bit weak to me. Anyway, more than likely not the case. Soon as loefah appeared the disco/stage lights went straight off, and apart from the spotlight at the front it was then nice and easy to find yourself a good dark spot.
Was wondering where you were the whole night. In fact, hardly saw anyone from the Effra in there, apart from Wiggle!herbalicious wrote:Managed to barge my way to the front for Kode 9/JB, Loefah and Digi Mystikz....was emotional.
Usually nowhere as busy. The July Summer Blazedowns are probably one of the more popular ones. The room doesn't normally get filled till after midnight, and tends to empty out after 3.say_whut wrote:Never been to a DMZ birthday or night, but it sounds phenomenal. Are the normal nights as busy as the birthday events? I told myself I will go to a DMZ night one night, but living up on Scotland it will cost me a fair amount just to get to the door.
