@kolto - cool bleepy bit at the beginning, kinda sounds like a supercomputer thang going on. Synth sound's impressive as well however vocals don't work for me at all, never really sound properly in key i'm afraid. Also when the vocals first come in, everything sounds squashed and compressed, like there isn't enough room in the mix, try and spread things out

@manudiao: The only place the lead seemed repetitive to me was before the second drop at 2:17, I would consider changing just a couple notes, nothing drastic, just as a kind of heads up that shits about to get real. I rather liked the track though!
@Grok: I like the sudden change from slow to fast. The key seems strange to me, what is it? (I lack the ability to tell just by listening) After the drop the drums are a little to heavy for me but that could very well be a personal preference.
@Eye-siC: really feeling the liquidy bass, lots of tension at the end. Interested in hearing the rest!

Soundcloud
This is a track I started today, I still have a good bit of work to do, but some feedback on how it sounds so far would be much appreciated! There are a couple transitions that really need work, I will also change the drums more than likely. I used my computers text to speech for the vocal one shots, I plan on replacing them with real vocoded voices so I can it sounding exactly how I want it.

@jclarkelv- cool lil rhythm yo. drums could add some variations. synths sound cool too. 2nd part has a pretty dry transfer, not that climactic. mix is a little messy too, give everything its place in the aural specturm. EQ and compress! nice start tho

@kolto - nice intro, epic! damn das some modulation! got no criticism. shit is slaps.

@eye-sic- intro is fuckin clean. this track has hella potential yo! no complaints, just sounds liek you need to work on it more. gooshit!

some shit ive been working on. i got an MC for it too.

@sprayyypaint
That was PRetty boss, I love it. No complaints really. Not That a Newb like me can detect.
@jClarkelv
Alittle messy with the collab of synth and bass. Clean it up a bit.
@Kolto
I can't judge it, too awesome.

@SupaRaiden64
A bit repetitive, and your sounds could use some work. Namely your claps/snares. Not enough snap to them, they end up sounding a bit muddy. It's hard to tell where you're trying to take it, but nice so far.

@sprayyypaint
You obviously know where you're going with this track. There's nothing I could tell you that you wouldn't already know about most likely. I can't wait to hear the finished product.

@jclarkelv
I like the what you were trying to do. The sound design is nice, but yeah, it is kind of messy in some places. Sounds like everything is fighting for space.

---

More random inspiration in this track. Like most of my failed projects (And probably this one too), they're usually short, and from what I hear, pretty decent to the less critical ear. I do trust that I'll get some nice specific feedback, but a general outlook on the track would be nice too (Self esteem).
So, yeah. :3

Feedback for others:
@xGhozt Kind of a weird track, the melody reminds me of circus music :lol: The drop is good man, and the bass work is good too - although you might want to mix your drums better. The intro also needs jazzing up, pads/chords/fx etc. Overall good try man - finish it up.
@SupaRaiden64 For me the intro was slightly boring and the synths sound a bit flat - try and liven i up. The bass after the drop isn't really my sort of thing, but it sounds clear although you need to bring out your drums, the snare especially - it's lacking punch. As I said not really my sort of thing, but I can see where your're going.
@sprayyypaint Intro is heavy man, I was a bit dissapointed by the drop though - I don't really know why. Everything's sounding good though, no real criticisms.
@jclarkeiv Reminds me of Hardstlye lol. Not sure on the melody, try varying note lengths and playing with some delay? The drop was weird lol. Overall I'd work on variation and mixing. Keep it up man.

Today I worked on this prog house remix of Skrillex's song Summit, this mix and transitions are messy atm but I figured I'd see what people think as the main structure is finished.

Soundcloud

Track was mixed on headphones, and very roughly mastered, some things probably sound shitty on other peoples systems.

Any comments, feedback and plays/comments on SoundCloud is really appreciated :)

Thanks. :W:

@jClarkelv kinda of a messy sound, but hey its a wip what do you expect.. just do some cleaning up, maybe focus on the overall structure too. other than that great ideas and i like where its going.
@i11icit those are really nice sounding synths bro, keep it up. maybe throw them all into one bus for limiting and compress the hell out them all after that. just so they arnt all over the place, you know ?

@Eye-siC I really love the feel of this song. The bassline sounds awesome for sure! My main suggestion would be to work on the kick sound in the intro a little more, it sounds like there is a bit of reverb on the kick that could be pulled back to make your kick cut through a bit better in the intro section. Also the snare sounds a bit dry, maybe use a bit of reverb on the snare track. The mixdown sounds pretty good for the most part though.

@dansheep13 The buildup in this song is intense! The song sounds unique to me, and the mixing sounds like it was done pretty well. I especially want to comment on that lead at around 2:26 in your song. It sounds awesome and I like the jazzy feel it has. The main suggestion I can give is to maybe make a subtle break before you start with the hats and snares at 1:50 in your track. That way when the drums come in they will create more energy. Sometimes silence before a drop will sound good and add more suspense for when the song breaks.

@manudiao Your intro is very good and the song was structured very well. The lead synths in your intro sound great. Sounds to me like you did pretty much everything right. The bassline merged flawlessly into your interlude section and your mix sounds very good on my monitors. You made good use of automation on those bass sounds also. Nice work.

Anyways guys, here is a tune that my buddy jWIRE & I have been working on. Its at 100bpm and its got kind of a funky feel. We are definitely having fun working on it, and I would love some helpful feedback. Soundcloud

@Specimen-Yarp

thanks for the feedback mate, appreciated. I actually removed some compression this morning of some of the sounds as it was making them sound a bit dull. I will try bussing tonight and compressing. Was thinking about doing some muliband distortion as well just to see what else i can get out of these sounds.

I'll post some stuff up on your Soundcloud regarding the New Track teaser. Just had a listen and it sounded sick! :)

@Altron - love the fades (like the one at 0:57). Everything sounds great mix wise as far as i can tell. For a 5 minute song it gets a little to repetitive for my tastes towards the end.

@ Specimen-Yarp - damn that bassline has some bite to it, how did you get it to sound so intense?

@mthrfnk - the synth at around 1:20 sounds like it is either clipping or feeding back - not sure if it is intentional. I like the drum roll at 1:32 and 3:30- whatever you start doing at 2:28 sounds awesome - is that the vocals or a synth? The arpeggios at the end are a nice touch too.

@ xGhozt - the chromatic scale sounds really cool. Your intro works in both 3/4 and 4/4 time and you could make some really cool transitions between them if you wanted - like the one in Noisia's Machine gun. Your bass run at the end sounds really cool composition wise but the bass sounds really compressed.

Here is the track i have been working on - it is a remix of Nine Inch Nails The Hand That Feeds. Ive been writing music for a while but have only recently started trying out producing. This WIP is the 3rd song i've done, and any feedback would be incredibly helpful since the only feedback i have been able to get up until now is from people that dont make music.

I LOVE IT, I wanna hear more >.< lol
@Altron
I like it, but you may want to think about more variation.
@npcompl33t
Dude that is pretty nice. I can't give you any advice, I'm not that good atm. Sounds awesome.

Well, I know it needs more variation, ill work on that, and I need a idea for a better intro synth and melody to ride along the wobbles, cause I know it sounds like a bunch of **** atm. I'm going to take off the Sub on the wobble cause I see its causing harm.

Dedeye
I like the timbre of the chords from the start and the messed up drums at the end. Some kind of lyrical hook rather than the morphed voice? A

Altron
I like the robot-sounding voice, it could be louder. I think the "oh my god it's the funky shit" sample could be something else, it reminds me too much of Prodigy. It could posibly be 5-10bpm faster? B

Specimen-Yarp
I like the bass at the end of the phrase. You could eq the ride differently, it sounded a little clangy to me. B

@SupaRaiden64- This deffinately needs some beefing up. The track has no top end percussion at all. Even some hats would help to fill out your track considerably. EQ the living shit out of your bassline. Then resample. :6:

Also, MrAural, I'm not sure if that "Three pieces of feedback" lecture was intended for me, but that's just my signature, not a WIP for feedback. I was just trying to contact Kolto :W:

Hi there!

@ SupaRaiden64;
Intro sounds fine to me. Drums could use some beefing up. That snare seems so dry with no reverb. Try layering it with another snare and give it some reverb.
Your sounds tend to take up alot of headroom aswel. Drums get a bit repetitive after a while, Add some hats to create some movement in that track man. Like your idea but you just need to stick some more work in the quality of the sounds.

@ Npcompl33t;
Man that synth is mental in that intro haha.
The anticlimax is weird, don't know why, it's just muddy a bit. There was also no drop (not implying dubstep needs one) but this track would feel so much better with one. Snare seems a bit too dull aswel. Why don't you try to layer it with that clap?
Also bottom end needs some work, I can't hear any sub at all, maybe I just have ear fatigue tho haha. Keep it up!

@ Altron;
Man those drums sound crisp and I want to make love to that snare all night long and jam it into all kinds of drums and hats and just twiddle its nipples and hmm.
Your synth sounds are perfect, some are a bit too quiet imo tho. Track seems a bit slow for a 100bpm tune but it's definitly funky man!

@ Specimen-Yarp;
Those synths are perfect together. The cymbals sound clear with perfect reverb. Get the structure out and make a track already! :D

@ Mthrfnk;
Names like this are a pain in the ass to type out. haha
Track has a real good atmosphere, great build-up. Smooth yet not repetitive. Breakdown was at the perfect moment.
Claps are perfect in the mix. Really nice tune mate, mixdown seems spot on aswel. Can't really find something to comment negatively on.

@xGhozt;
That snare sounded great until 0:17 where it's a bit dull. The kick is also a bit high compared to the snare.
Synths are sounding alright to my ears, maybe need some bit of high end but not much atleast.
I feel like you stick way too much time in your synths and neglect your drums. Imo, drums are most important, but that's just me.

@SupaRaiden64;
Intro needs a bit more variation.
Transition to the synths is extremely weird and harsh. Drums are drowning in the mix fighting for some room. Turn them up and beef them up/EQ/Layer/compression etc.
Those 'ey Oy' vocals (?) are getting really annoying, like massively, I almost punched my dog in his face because he just looked at me dumb.
Look up into song structure a bit and follow it very strictly first, when you get the hang of it, you can experiment with it.

@ Sprayyypaint;
That kick is thumping perfectly.
Your drums sound pretty good, kick need some more low end tho. Second part of the song is fucking epic man. But it has no real structure in it, just has a more of experiment way to it, which I obviously dig.

@ Jclarkeiv;
Kick seems pretty high in the frequency range. You used alot of variation which is perfect but it may needs some more elements aswel.
That drop was like what the fuuuuck haha. I don't really know what to say. It also seems that there is a snare (?) which is reaaaaly really quiet.

@ Kolto;
That pad is sick. That kick is fucking perfect. Elements are fitting excellent. Structure is spot on. Only downside is that vocal. Really really doesn't fit with the track.
Drop has little connection to the connection tho but your sounds are fucking insane. I think you could change that intro to fit more with that drop. Amazing work man!

Now I always give a shitton of feedback so I do expect atleast 2-3 feedbacks aswel.

I need some advice on the mixdown AND on the lower frequencies because I feel like they are really muddy and I can't for the love of god, fix them. The sub is perfectly EQ'd but still feels odd in the mix.
Thank you!
