It's just the news report. Not an actual video of the event.

Jesus Christ ISIS just beheaded reporter James Foley Wright, threatened to behead another reporter. So fucking disturbing. You can find the video just by googling his name, I'm not gonna post it here though.

Fucking ISIS. I dunno what to think about this. :(

I just saw the video. The knife they used looked small and blunt, sadistic fucks.

Seriously fucked up way of killing somebody. What do you think of what they said in the video, lemon? I dunno what to believe from the media anymore

But I really got that feeling after watching the video of "just drop a fucking nuke on these fucks". I can understand how we made the mistakes that we did after 9/11. The feeling went away after like 20 minutes and I realized the issue is so much more nuanced than it seems, and that reactionary military responses won't solve the problem, but in that moment I could understand how America felt after 9/11.

I had my volume on mute for the entire video, but the beginning had Obama in it and I think that he was discussing the bombings on ISIL. The end part showed the murder :( , at the very end they showed another guy, but I think that they were threatening to kill him unless their demands are meet.

People saying that we should nuke the region are idiots. First off, if you bomb the area you will kill more innocent civilians than actual militants. Second, the U.S. would be bombing oil fields and pipelines which are vital to our economy. It's like saying that if a terrorist organization takes over Chicago, we should just nuke the entire city. :u:

not really a thought more of a reactive feeling in your stomach. obviously if i had my hand on "the button" i wouldn't have clicked it, I'm just saying that I could empathize with the people who overreacted with 9/11 when you see that kind of disturbing video

yeah, just to be clear i wasn't saying that i think we should nuke anyone or do anything in iraq, i was just saying that i understood the feeling of a desire for vengeance that many people had after 9/11, but I also understood that it was a non-rational, fleeting feeling and that the issue is, as you pointed out lemon, more nuanced than just "bomb the bad guys."

I'm sure their reporters suffer less glamorous deaths.

:|

This is so weird for me, when discussing the Israel/Palestine conflict here, with people from all over the world, religion is rarely mentioned and if it is, it's to say that being anti-Israel isn't an anti-Jew thing. Fucked up. A lot of people have this fairy tale idea about Brits, that they are well educated etc, I feel that's not the case as much anymore. Shame
