But that watch isn't from 1931. So they've kept an obsolete design that only serves to render the device itself useless.

You know this isn't true. A design or an aesthetic function can serve any number of purposes.wub wrote:But that watch isn't from 1931. So they've kept an obsolete design that only serves to render the device itself useless.
But let's hear it wub, what were the rules regarding watches in the Saddlery Rules of 1931. I'll give you 10 minutes.

No mention, but there was a special announcement from Salters' Balls;
CONCERNING SALTERS' POLO
STICKS AND BALLS
The many and varied types of canes
suitable for Polo Sticks make it
impossible to standardise any one
particular model and to say that it
is the Stick for the Game . The
Stick which may suit one player
will not suit another, and it is
generally found that Players have
their own proved favourites.
SALTERS .specialise in making
Polo Sticks to Clients' personal
requirements and guarantee to
copy any Stick as accurately as it is
possible .. m::
A trial order is solicited and we ask
intending Clients to send along
their favourite Stick now so that the
canes can be selected from the
thousands now being prepared for
next Season's orders.
CLUB SECRETARIES are asked
to note that SALTERS' Polo Balls
—both Willow and Bamboo—are
selected by the leading Clubs for
their uniformity in size, weight and
proved reliability.
SALTERS' new pattern INDOOR
POLO BALL is now being used
extensively in the U .S .A. If you
are interested in this new branch of
the game please write for particulars

trying to come up with a dissertation topic is looooooong
i thought i had one but now ive been told its too vague
anyone think of any idea i can do which is about the differences in signal or sound between analog and digital?
just writing 10,000 words about what each one technically is, is too vague

Re: The things that pissed you off today ™ thread
Maybe you could take a more historical perspective ie. the development throughout history? Or find some aspects of analog that has been forgotten or neglected in the transition to digital? I'm not that well versed in the topic but it sounds like it should be doable

Sometimes the room draw works out. We did high card draw to see who got the penthouse bedroom in our Ibiza villa last year. I lucked out and got it, but my mate (who did the majority of the leg work booking the villa) got the small bedroom next to the downstairs toilet.RKM wrote:the housemates refusing to take the small room today did a draw, filmed it, they came top 2,

Re: The things that pissed you off today ™ thread
"lucked out" implies that you didn't get the room..
Re: The things that pissed you off today ™ thread

Re: The things that pissed you off today ™ thread
how big is the single? we left my mate with a pure box room lol
OiOiii #BELTERTopManLurka wrote: thanks for confirming
Re: The things that pissed you off today ™ thread
its a right fucking box, theres a single bed, tiny desk on wheels and a cupboard, between that there's room to stand and little else, built very much along the lines of 'monastic cell'

Re: The things that pissed you off today ™ thread
the fairest way to decide rooms when flatting is an arm wrestling contest. The strongest gets first pick of room and so on
