I wouldn't deny The XX are a bit bland, but The Velvet Underground 
It was just a comment I found on some blog. The guy stated that The XX were more influential
in general. Like Diego did, but without joking intent.
I rate good punk music, but I wouldn't classify either of these bands as punk.
