I'll try and clarify a little. My point is that the music isn't actually good so I don't think it would be a valuable use of time to listen to it.
I also think that with certain types of music, namely punk, the emphasis of appreciation is something other than the music itself, perhaps the cultural aspects of it, something which I don't identify with and generally doesn't compel me to listen to music.
exactly what I responded too though

I would look up good punk songs to link, but I don't feel like stopping this BJM track
That's something I only have with good psych rock records, I can't turn them off. Has to come full circle.
Punk is all about the attitude and the message though, so if you can't identify with
that.. it simply makes sense that you wouldn't like it. Velvet is of more value to me than
a punk band like Agent Orange though.

there's plenty of punk that's super ignorant. it's not all about the message and attitude

that can be said about a lot of rock, metal w/e. and it's like some rocker type being all "electronic music is shit. just a bunch of repetitive bleeps and bloops and it's only enjoyable on drugs"
hiphop is all guys talking over some loops

I'm not talking just punk though. It's more in a philosophical sence that the ones that don't cater to tradition or craft, blow up the barriers and enfuse music with actual creativity and not just craft. Craft is usually defined by someone that didn't make it, like a dumb teacher.
If you listen to most of the people that get an education through concervatories, you will find 'overschooled'

composers that lost their self or voice two weeks in on the course. Or you get an ok variant of someone good from last year.
The same goes for people that practise playing instruments too much. Except ofcourse if it's skills like Pakistani drum circles or being part of Ravi Shankars band or something like that, where it's a genuine discipline that you have to learn. But that has never been the case in most music and is hardly common.

Yeah I think you hit the nail on the head there. For me, Velvet is one of those bands that underline that difference.

You're not going to be good at relationships until you have sufficient experience. That experience is going to be gained through having relationships with a variety of women.
Once you have figured yourself out, and you may think that you have, but I promise you, you have not, then you will be able to have a serious relationship with the woman who will be your wife, and the mother of your children.
Since the dawn of civilization there have been only around 500 generations. 500 marriages, of one sort or another, have produced you. You have a responsibility to all of those people to marry well. Your marriage will be a significant link in the chain of your family.
