the worst part being most of them sound nothing near what they're trying to emulatesunny_b_uk wrote:there are already a tonne of "how to kinda do this sound" tutorials on youtube & on here.
a lot of them kinda sound the same as well.

No bs man, I think I've only seen one tutorial that ended with the right sound.deadly habit wrote:the worst part being most of them sound nothing near what they're trying to emulatesunny_b_uk wrote:there are already a tonne of "how to kinda do this sound" tutorials on youtube & on here.

to be fair i didnt know theyre was an update for months after it came out, .. wasnt the only update the patches anyway?Digezt wrote:It always makes me think "hmmmm", when I see people using old versions of Massive when you get updates for free on legit versions.
You made the whole thing? Or just added the wobble to a premade Zomboy Loop? That's some sick bars you got going there.MassAphekt wrote:Soundcloud
Not here to show off but I think I've gotten a pretty similiar growl to zomboy I guess, nothing insanely refreshing but it does have a nice grit to it
Your signature WIP is good! Finish a song man!sunny_b_uk wrote:there are already a tonne of "how to kinda do this sound" tutorials on youtube & on here.

thanks homie. no mang I just used massive for all of the secondary sounds and fm8 for the growl, they're all macroed and automateddaeMTHAFKNkim wrote:You made the whole thing? Or just added the wobble to a premade Zomboy Loop? That's some sick bars you got going there.MassAphekt wrote:Soundcloud

lol it is simple tbh, once you figure out how to do ithookey wrote:Still no one comes close to the midrange bass work done in Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. It sounds huge, harsh, loud and at the same time it's well produced and has plenty of sub-bass too. No one can re-create that sound so far. Would love to hear a more detailed explaination on how the hell he pulled that one out, to the point there are conspiracies out there saying that record was ghost produced by someone at mau5trap.
Well I think thats nonsense and it's the guy alone at work, but I would like to know how he got that good at FM synthesis alone and how he came up with that sound. If you have tried yourself, you'll know it CANT be simple "experimentation" because you keep doing circles and never getting results. You always get a really cheap sounding version of that (like the guys on Youtube). You gotta have pretty good notions on what you are doing with FM synthesis to tweak around and come up that sound.
Im not really interested in other bro artists because their midranges sound way too much like default Massive work.
Whats the track where you surpossedly have a bass that sounds like SMANS's? I can't find it.RandoRando wrote:Check my latest wip on my soundcloud. Soundcloud.com\randorando
People are saying it's sampled in my song, it's not, the SMANS bass was relatively easy to make.
Just fm8, ableton overdrive, ableton auto filter, Sugarbytes WOW filter is all you need.
Post a soundcloud sample if it's as easy to replicate.sunny_b_uk wrote:lol it is simple tbh, once you figure out how to do ithookey wrote:Still no one comes close to the midrange bass work done in Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. your watching a lot of youtube tutorials and assuming that they're the best attempts
its not as complicated as u think, its possible to get it spot on with 1 sinewave & FX
automating distortion & filters is the way![]()
lol your really narrow minded if your not interested in other bro artists because they sound like default massive work.
i happen to do brostep and havent used massive in a long time.. i use 3xosc so i rely on simple sinewaves, saws and squares.
koan sound are good at making sounds with just relying on one synth, widowmaker as well.
