Stapleface:-
Sorry, but im not really into my house music tbh, so cant give any feedback, although it does sound well put together. On the other hand, i really like 'you came to me' that track is sick..got a real nice live dubbed feel, would be nice to hear this on a system. Bass notes are nice. 8)

anymore feedback on my track 'faint' would be nice

recently i've been startin to look a lot more at my structure from the listener's perspective- it's so easy to get so caught up in your ideas that songs just become a stream of fragmented ideas. Listening to 4x4 dance music helped me with this a lot, i think.
thats my piece of wisdom for today any way XD

Yo finally got some time to ave a listen 2 a few tunes up in ere. So ere's some feedback.

** MYST ** Lovin all your tracks mate especially Strawberry. Popcorn is a tune aswell, would like 2 ere the full version.

** Grookie ** Nice tune, really chilled start an then some proper mad soundin bass. Nice drums, a little on the quite but I think it suits the track.

** nova.k ** Evil track man, like it a lot. U got some well interestin sounds goin on.

Well that's me done 4 now, an I would like a bit of feedback on a track of mine called "Corvus". It's up on myspace, first track.

Peace!

agreed, at the time i was just going for the dark minimal vibe the some people were really starting to pump out, if i could find the original RNS i woild go back and and some to it.
Roistermusic wrote:Fatty Knuckles:-
Yeah man, i like this tune...loads of space and freedom..as nova.k said - a bit more layering (the the kick esp.) and youve got a nice track.
see above.
Serox wrote:That synth at the start sounds well familiar :D is that a preset or a sample?

Nice sounds but I was waiting for it to drop or some rhythm to start. Sounds like a break in a track to me.
it started off as a preset and after hours of tinkering and many many bowls it became something that i saved as one of my own... it came from the subtractor. alot of people really didnt listen to tunes in 05 and 05 i guess? =/
back then if it wasnt wobble it was just minimalish. grated it was my first tune of said style.
Jolly Wailer wrote:damn you guys are cool, this tune has 148 downloads ?!!!? who is out there listening to this stuff?
everybody clicks likes when they say something about new bits man... i posted that tune up just for you guys in this thread last night and this pussy(who i wont name) that was talking some major shit in the reason hater thread, turned all puss face when there wasnt a 320 of it.

MYST - Listened to all your tracks man the production is tight as fuck!! How do you get your tracks sounding so clean on the myspace player? Really like your style, very different to the usual stuff that crops up about here. Nothing at all bad to say about any of the tracks, maybe a bit gameboyish but that seems to be part of what your all about so its not a bad thing.

ROISTER - Had a listen to a few of your tracks, really liked them actually! The sub in 'faint' is deep! think it really needs a drop though, the idea works well but would work even better with a breakdown without any sub then rowdy it up a little. Liking 'bits' as well, reminds me of some four tet stuff! All in all some tasty tunes there. Any chance of some 320's?

STAPLEFACE - i wasnt really feeling hopscotch to be honest, as a tune i just wasnt into it, ive listened to your stuff before which i really liked - you came to me and cheating fire dub are sick!Think i've told you before though! Think its probably just a matter of taste, i like house music but i'm more into my gritty electro type of house and hopscotch was a bit....gay for my liking. From a production point of view i'd definitely say drum edits are needed - an extra kick and an extra snare or two every 4 bars would do it, i'd also say lose some of the reverb on the snare and layer it up so its meatier, dont just use snare samples either, i've been making some pretty sick electro recently and using tiny little bits i've just taken from accapellas to add on top of snares and it sounds sick!!

This is a new tune i'm working on, i'm pretty much finished it just need to sort out a couple of bits ie. some of the wobble needs altered a bit, the overall tune needs properly mixed and a bit more eqing will be needed to get the most out of all my sounds. Thats all stuff i've noticed already so it'd be good to see what others think of it.

another tune i'd love some feedback on is the first tune on my myspace - Jest the Tester, used some pretty cool samples and its one of my favourite tunes that ive made, i'm unsure about the changeup in it though, half of me likes it half of me doesnt!

Miscreant, Hats off to you mate! for trying something original, i like the concept of the medieval vibe on 'Tester' strange and yet somehow all hangs together quite nicely, i like the hip hop backbeat.

Roister- I really like 'Faint' it doesn't sound like your other tracks, and has a lovely melancholic feel to it, it NEEDS to be longer though, with a few breakdowns, i'd be up for a finished version mate!

Depone- that remix is heavy, it's not really my thang but its well produced and has a lot of nice chops and changes in it. Bravo sir.

Oh, and Fattyknuckles, cheers for the request mate. 8)

I got a newie in a Todd Edwards meets Burial meets El B 2 step kind of way..

tracks called 'Snowblind'

mondays child - I like that tune, its real nice. love some of the weird fx ripping noises that pop up throughout. The instrument that uve used for the 3rd note is a little too overpowering. Maybe its my shit speakers, but i feel like it needs bringing down a bit. I like the way it changes about every now and again. I like tunes that move in different ways.

This is like my 2nd ever tune. I posted it up yday, but I worked on it again and changed it around a bit. I really need to learn how to eq and compress shit properly. Im using Reason 4.0, so if anyone has any tips or easy to read/watch guides, itd be much appreciated. Most of the guides I have read have been pretty complex, so a simple breakdown would be sound!!

And yeah, I got like the break and stuff to do and give it some build ups and some nice little synth effect noises to make, but I'm fuddling my way thought this. My first tune took me about a month but from some of these tips ive been reading, this ones taken me like 6/7 hours in total!

Cheers

Monday's child: snowblind is really fantastic, i love the glitchy work you did too the drums, lovely stuff. I was dancing while listening to it.

Would you like to collaborate on a track? i would love to make something with you.

This was sort of inspired on pangaea's router.. It is not finished tho, i think it need some work, any feedback would be more than welcome.

Primevil and Mekha, cheers guys. Always nice to feel some love. glad it got you dancing, thats kind of what i made the track for, that and the laidies. I've played it to some female friends and they love it.

I know what you mean about the opening, the level sounds quite loud, I think its just the sheer 'size' of the sound, there's a limiter strapped across the mix, and no levels go into the red. The intro was based on the Mount Kimbie track 'Maybe's' with it's slowed down sample at the beginning. And that's really quite loud as well...
None of the rest of the track bears any relation to that tho.

Always up for trying something different with music so i'm always open to collabs, pm me mate.

Been away like a week cos I got a midi keyboard for my bday so I've got all excited an been working on 4 tunes at once (I normally only have 1 or 2 on the go) and its taken me ages to get any finished but now I got two done in the same day :D Ok so neither of them are totally scrubbed down and perfect but I can't be assed to spend that much time on them when effectively im still in the learning process. Should save that attention for when im pro :p

Anyhoo, please give a listen to the top 2 tracks on my player: www.virb.com/sativabreather

(My eyes hurt atm cos ive been sittin at my pc for fucking ages makin these tunes so im gonna go have sum food an a smoke an then come back to leave feedback for other peeps, regardless of whether ive got feedback by then but it would be nice  )

EDIT:

Pah Je: I'm afraid I didn't like the sweeping pitch change thing in 'Dongas a go go' and it kinda spoilt the tune for me. Arctic dub I Liked a lot more, some cool noises once the track got into it.

Prime|Evil: Didn't feel this tune at all untill 1:26ish when it suddenly got a lot better. Overall i'd say the production is pretty damn good if you've only been using reason like a month. I got reason 3 on new years day and it sounds more grimy than anything ive been able to make. Few things that maybe need some work on them but i'll let sum1 with more experience of reason tell you how to do it lol.

Mondays Child: I swear you've been churning out tracks non stop lately! Really likin this tune, maybe my fav i've heard by you. I like the breakcore/garage kinda style going on. I know it's not exactly your thing but I would have loved to hear a bit of a grimy drop at some point. Nothing too overstated but a slight build up and then a crunchy synth or a dark bassline for a bit. Think It would go so well with the drumbeat.

MiscreanT: The Reefer Clouds song is phat, I'd maybe bring out some of the background noises and vocals a tiny bit more cos when the bass gets nasty they fade out a bit too much. Other than that once its been eq'd an shit it'll be a niiiiice tune. Ok, had to listen to Jest the Tester after that and I think the internet fails to convey how good it is. I think the bit starting at 2mins you should really change the main bass sound into something a bit more in keeping with the medieval sounds rather than the dubsteppy sounds if you see what I mean. I like the change up into drum and bass though, maybe also at the start you could have the really calm bit go on for longer? I was enjoying that and could have listened to it for a while longer before the next part of the tune started. Hope you work on it some more cos it sounds phat how it is but I reckon it has the potential to be fucking awesome and I'd really like to have it on my mp3 if you do fix it up a bit :p

Roister - Really liking 'Faint', the piano samples are genius. The intro seemed to drag on a little bit though, i was waiting for the drop but it took a while, then again that kinda adds to the chilled vibe of it.

Miscreant - Not quite sure of the bass on Jest the Tester, the rest of the song fits together really nicely, the bass just seems to be slapped on top of it, especially as most of the other bits have got quite an 'analogue' sound. maybe try saturating it up a little with some warm distortion/bit crushing and bring it down in the mix a little. Nice breakbeat at the end

Mondays child - Sick beat on 'Snowblind', theres not really much else i can say about it really, i'm well into it!

I've just put up a tune i'm working on called 'Passing', i've not really looked at how im gona end it yet, i'll save that for tomorrow.
