I'm not allowed to sample from the work that I'm remixing.
But yeah I've been layering synths yesterday and it seems to work.
I might have some string players in the studio soon for a 70's funk project. Could ask
them to knock out some Mozart.

Think they used the word reinterpretation
Yeah Diego if you could send me that record, that'd be great. The Wendy Carlos angle is
a good idea too. Might be better than just making a hook out of an hour of Mozart
and chucking a beat under it

Pissed Off seems inappropriate, but I'm not sure whether enough people knew (of) him to make a thread worthwhile, but probably my favourite rock/guitar musician from Bristol died today. Nick Talbot of Gravenhurst. Truly one of the most wonderful musicians I've ever seen and a troubled, but genuinely beautiful person to boot. I've got his old skateboard in my hallway ... dude sold me my first guitar pedal.

I honestly consider Fires In Distant Buildings one of the best albums from anywhere in the last 10 years. I was always surprised that less people had heard of Gravenhurst (especially in Bristol), but encouraged by Warp's belief that they would always find a place for him, despite guitar-based, folky shoegaze not exactly being their base. At least he got to put his art out there. Damn right it'll live forever.
Nicely written piece by my brother who's, you know, an actual writer and knew him far better than me :
