Gutted that they are splitting this season tho, at least we have 3 more episodes than the last seasons (16 as opposed to 13)

production and editing more likely, also costs, advertisers backing it etc

shows like say game of thrones are funded by people who buy hbo service so no ads funding the production and they can do it in their own format and just play it all the way through

shows like this the mileage is to pay for the network and production costs, during the split they can get you to watch other shows and more ads (sell more ad space) by having previews attached to other shows etc
like coming soon on breaking bad, watch mad men for a sneak preview
so you watch the whole show and glued to the tv ads and all waiting for the 1 min or so trailer

it's honestly one of the main reasons i don't watch much live tv or care about it and just either dvr or download shows that have all the crap cut out

unfortunately the ads are what supports high production value on network and standard cable shows in the US, and frankly it shows when you compare it visually etc to say UK shows (not to say there aren't exceptions)

Too excited for this new season. Way too many questions have gone too long without being answered. What the fuck is mike going to do, and more importantly, will jessie ever find out what walt did? Stay tuned for the next season of crack inc.

pretty sure it's all been shot/produced already, rather than just the first half of it being done then during the first half being aired the second half is produced/edited.

i mean look at house, they've started having like 3/4 breaks per season and that's definitely not because of costs.

i dunno the last season they had the split was because they were still shooting and editing when it started playing

is that because of money constraints? i thought house was one of the most successful shows on american tv?
