Yeah this seems like a good patch to resample.

Hi all, so i just upgraded to reason 6 from 4 ( big jump i know) but my question is that when I'm mixing, nothing is above 0 db, yet down at the bottom by the in/out it says clip at different parts in the track. Am i actually clipping even though all my levels are well below the "clipping level"?
thanks in advance

well, how do you know you're not clipping? try watching the big meter on "peak" mode, because sometimes there are really fast peaks, not noticeable in the other meters or on other modes.

Ok thanks, I was just looking at the channel levels not the master. Thanks

you gotta look at the master, just cause 2 tracks don't clip on their own doesn't mean they won't when combined.
and by the big meter he didn't mean the master channel. its a new thing that was implemented in reason 5 [i think?] and its an actual db peak/vu meter. it'll be on your hardware output at teh top of the rack (click 'big meter')

I know what he was talking about , i just worded it wrong. It's all cleared up know

Is there a way to change the velocity of individual notes that start on the same grid marker? Without moving them around and moving them back afterwards...

From Reason 4 onwards, you could presumably use different takes / sequencer clips to control the velocity of overlapping notes.
Otherwise......

myeah but when i play it in one take with quantize during playing on

Switch to a manly DAW and use midi filters to separate notes of different velocities to different sequencer clips?

Might be a dumb question but how do you 'make' a bus in Reason 6?
I am following a producer course and it's completely in Logic and I'm using Reason 6 at home.
In Logic it's pretty simple but I have no idea how to go about this in reason.
Mainly need a bus for drum compression.

instantiate a mixer.. i don't know R6 but from a background on R4, make a line mixer or a big mixer, either one (i like the small one). Route each drum/instrument to a channel on the mixer. Route the mixer's outputs to a channel on your "main" mixer. Route it to the inserts of your choosing before reaching the main mixer. Each bus can then also have send/receive channels to your choosing. Handy for if you want to make a snares bus for instance, and you have a handful of snares/claps with varied amounts of a reverb on them.

It's way easier in reason man, just use your head and do the routing yourself. (use the aux amount on the line mixer)

Ye that's the problem, I finally got my head around all the devices and haven't messed about with the routing.
Trial and error I guess!

Hey I'm trying to synch the LFOs of a maelstrom and a subtractor to one of thor's LFOs via CV, but subtractor and maelstrom don't have LFO inputs, only outputs. how could I go about doing this without feeding the audio from the two synths into thor via audio input, or is that the recommended way to go about it?
I just want the bottom end synth ive made to synch with the mid range bass in subtractor and have subtractors osc1/osc2 LFO trigger in unison w/ et. all

use a master LFO(which ever is making the mid/high wobble)i always use lfo since it has didicated cv out from a thor..run the cv from that thor(master lfo) into what you want to modulate on the bottom end.(like filter,volume,ect.)done. if the parameter you want to modulate does not have a dedicated cv input. you can always put it in a combinator, run the master lfo to the cv input on the combinator and then assign cv output of combinator to the parameter with in combinators mod matrix

when i connect the LFO 2 output of thor to the programmer cv input 1 and set it in the matrix to modulate MOD B rate of maelstrom, it automates the MOD B rate knob moving back and forth at tempo synched intervals. switching the unipolar switch on the back doesn't help much either. any suggestions?

what parameters do you want to modulate?
just list which you want synced

MOD B of Maelstrom Instance 1
MOD B + MOD A of maelstrom Instance 2
LFO rate of Subtractor Instance 1

-MOD B of Maelstrom Instance 1.....thats a modulator not a paramater.
-MOD B + MOD A of maelstrom Instance 2....same thy ing as above . a lfo can modulate another lfo's speed, intensity with some synths and SO ON.
-like i said above
run the master lfo to the cv input on the combinator and then assign cv output of combinator to the parameter with in combinators mod matrix to subtractors lfo rate.
for a very synced lfo multi synth sound it would be easier just to use a instance of thor and run the output of the lfos on thor to modulate everthing(dont use any of the on board lfo's just use the master lfo's)
