how do i make it so when im using an imported sample the key will change but not the speed? adjusting the speed and pitch seems almost impossible so is there a easier way to do this?

open a fruity granulizer, drag the sample into that, it will now only affect the pitch when pressing different keys and not the speed.

If you have a mouse with a clickable scrollwheel, just click the scroll wheel when your mouse is over the background of fruity, and you'll get the plugin picker. This is a visual representation of all your plugins. Underneath this is a database. You can alter the database. 4:23 am and don't feel like typing it out right now, but eminently searchable. Makes everything SO SO SOS OSSOSOOS OSOSOOSOSOOS much easier. When I click to put an fx plugin into the mixer, my entire screen is filled with plugins, like my entire hd 22" monitor is filled with lists of plugins, shit is mad, I can't find anything. Boom plugin picker, little pictures of all your plugins, you can create your own categories, put whatever you want to in each category, in multiple categories.
You have too many plugins.

Oh right - open a different template from the templates menu, then close FL. When you reopen it'll open with the last viewed template.

Make your changes to the project you will be making a template and save it as [template name] to Program Files\Image-Line\FL Studio 8\Data\Projects\Templates\[template name].

It should appear on the templates list where you see the others and once you click on it, it will be your default next time you open FL or go to new project.

Favorite shortcut of the day: In Edison press Ctrl + F2, you can quickly step through your slices and rename them. What a time saver. In the last two months, this probably could have saved me about 4-8hours of work... doi!

Alrite people im gonna be a pain now so if youve got some patience id appreciate some help.
A second hand shop near me have just got in one of these:
http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/products/rfx1000/
An old zoom studio effects unit its going cheap

Thing is im really clueless when it comes to ins/outs and hooking equipment up. I cant stress that enough Im USELESS.
So basically im after someone who can explain how to hook this up to fl studio. My interface is focusrite saffire 6 usb.
Im also wondering how this will work in terms of workflow. Will the unit act as an insert effect like any other vst or is it a case of sending the signal out then recording the effected signal?

I know im being an awkward twat but I really need this explained in as simple terms as possible.
Just to clarify I need to know which ins/outs to use on my saffire as well as cables. And also how to set up the mixer in fl.

Cheers in advance for all responses.

say you want to use the effect unit on drums, on the drums bus output in FL, instead of speaker whatever (whatever it says for your defualt) its gonna have to go to the input on your saffire, then on one of the outputs of your saffire into the unit, the the units output into your second input on your saffire, then on antoehr channel in FL, set the input to "input whatever" from your saffire, and record what that channel recieves in edison.

people who use hardware is this right? i just took a shot at it i really have no idea about using external FX with any DAW -q-
