I'm "from" the UK, but have lived and studied in the US for 3 years.
I was all for Reconstrvct, but the price b2b the manifesto, as well as the 'v', have done a fair amount to put me off it.
I'll mention anything that does come up though.

Tbf as arsey as that manifesto sounds, they put on great looking lineups on apparently massive soundsystems.

I'd still go.

So you don't go back to the UK over the summer? Are you in college or hs?

I guess the manifesto is annoying but who cares it's a fucking dubstep show in america you don't have much supply of that. I'll go if the lineup is good. The lineups haven't been overly impressing (for my tastes at least) recently.

There's Pinch, Ishan Sound, Facta June 7th, looks decent. But July 19th Kahn + Neek, Gantz, Las, Epoch, & MR JOE NICE. Much more interested in that one. I get why they wanna bring in new wave of more experimental producers like Gantz, Las, Facta but cmon book some solid guys like Kromestar or Thelem or Goth Trad or Truth. And don't be afraid of a little dungeon here and there you purists. Would love to see someone like Seven or other Uprise crew like Asylum or Wayfarer. Seven is a seriously underrated producer imo. This one is siiiiiiick heard it from at kenzo the other night:

@diego - you know what i mean. they are pushing some less palatable sounds which i'm not always into. sure i love some gems here and there like Spry, Baby Face, Your Eyes, Loveless, but i can't see them putting together a whole set of music that I would enjoy. I feel like I would wanna go smoke a jay or get a drink for much of their sets.

@dj - ugh whatever :roll:

if you want more dungeon over- exploited beats im ok but don´t call the music of artist that are doing their thing with personality experimental, sounds even offensive because is clearly not experimental music. plus you are talking shit because goth trad was there recently and you can see truth and other dungeon esque artist in bare clubs in the US so don´t brag about a club doing better bookings than any club in the UK, this why you can´t have good line ups in the US

Yeah innit.

Surely thats half the point of going out to see a dj, to hear stuff you haven't heard before thats actually interesting? Gantz had a good mix of more well known dubs & some absolute nut-job tunes at System anyway, his sets aren't as 'weird' as what seems to be suggested.

& yeah Diego has a point, none of the people mentioned are really that experimental.

wut? i haven't followed previous reconstrvct lineups since i haven't been in the area. as for using the term 'experimental'..... whatever. semantic bullshit as per usual. couldn't think of a better word. "less palatable" ???

wouldn't call people like kromestar, quest, vivek dungeon. don't want just dungeon but would like to see a wider range.

when did anyone brag about a club doing better bookings than any club in the UK? i don't think a post in snh is going to affect our ability to have good lineups in the us.

idk
is producing as weird sounding music as u can experimental? i think it is tbh, at least to some degree
Thelem is pretty ''experimental'' now imo

+ dubu hearing a lot of wayfarer influence on that seven tune :p
wayfarer and kanjira's colabs are pretty sick. i dont usually listen to a lot of dungeon stuff these days bnut alawys got time to see what wayfarers upto. woudntn even call it dungeon most the time tbnh

yeah, especially the next with with Epoch / LAS / Gantz, and I'd definitely go see Facta
