Not really a fan of horror films but eh
It's technically a horror film but it's as much a drama as anything. I don't like horrors but like Del Toro's stuff. This is pretty good, I should have payed it more attention though.

Yeah, the blind swordsman AND Toshirô Mifune. Can't really go wrong.
If you were ever in doubt of Mifune's acting versatility, then give this a go. He's not just your average Samurai/Ronin badman in this. Still a badman though - that goes without saying!

Being John malkovich. That's an odd film.

fascinating doc like, apparently everything's kicked off again due to the respective families watching the film themselves and hearing all the challenges etc

To be honest I'm not surprised, with the pride they have for the family name and the bad history between them I doubt they will ever let it rest, especially with people like big Joe Joyce shouting the odds and James Quinn McDonagh, despite seeming a humble guy, being unable to turn down a challenge.

I think that young Nevens guy put up a good fight against James Quinn McDonagh and it was good to see the rematch against Micheal Quinn McDonagh and that fat Joyce guy but overall no family really came out on top.

What surprised me most was the money that gets put on these fights. Fuck me....

more than most ring boxers get!!! of course it's all family money rather than one man's prize pot but still

that Joyce guy is a mad fucker like, would have liked to have seen him fight

Visuals and audio are so on point, story is a bit weak but the latter makes up for it.. Especially the chemical brothers soundtrack.

It might take three spliffs to really understand the moral of the story,
but RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES COULD TOTALLY BE A METAPHOR FOR... DUBSTEP

Basically just watched films all day.

Image
Bloody brilliant, although the rape scene in the car had me looking away. Feckin long as well (4 hours) but definitely worth it.

Image
Another good'un. Loved Al Pacino character in this one and felt sorry for him at the end like I'm sure most people did.

Image
One of my favourites. Already watched this film a good few times but the clichés and cringey scenes never get old.

Also, Four Lions is on Channel 4 on Sunday night :corndance:
