In my case it was that reuse of the plastic bottles from my office vending machine meant they started to smell weird around the cap as a result of layer upon layer of dried saliva.
And it was costing me 0.30€ a time to get a new one, so even if I only replaced once a week it was still 15€ a year. This new one was only 12€ so already a cost saving straight off the bat.
Additonally it holds 1 litre as opposed to 500ml so I'm only getting up half as much to refill it over the course of a day.
The Thermos one was because it's bastard hot in the evenings when I train and I needed increased hydration as a result.

yea plastic leeches into the water form the bottle wall on water bottles. water bottles are the cheapest and lowest grade bottles cos they dont have to retain any pressure. a coke bottle has uv additives and a thicker wall so re use is more viable. still tastes of plastic tho. i used to work in a bottle fctory. my dad still does. its very boring.
