there was a vote two weeks ago on wether or not to regulate immigration further. (the initiating party wanted to allow entry to 16'000 immigrants per year, no more - whilst completely ignoring the fact there are about 19'000 people entering the refugee system every year already. according to the initiators [does this word even exist?], the goal of all this would've been to protect our environment and natural resources). one part of the initiative on hand wanted to force the government to spend at least 10% of their development aid funds on family planning. about 20% of the population actually voted yes (rural areas with sometimes less than 5% of foreigners having up to 30% of yes-voters; overall, about 22% of the swiss population are foreigners).

That doesn't work in the long run, you need dumb exploitable people to be taken advantage of and to do horrible jobs/fill prisons in a successful Capitalist economy. Our entire system falls apart if people aren't mostly dumb self-centred rappers imo.
