Having a go at my landlord for being a moron. It's the little things that make Mondays worth waking up for.

My girlfriend gave them her month's notice 2 months ago, sent them two e-mails, rang them three times (spoke to a human once, voicemail twice), sent them a letter via recorded delivery and then cancelled her standing order on the day she moved out.

We found a new housemate while Amy was still on her notice... sent her details to the landlord via letter and e-mail, told them when she was moving in and asked for all the checks to be done etc.

Anyway, they sent us a shitty e-mail this morning asking why Amy's rent is outstanding and practically threatening us with debt collectors already. I just rang them up listing all the attempts at contact we've made over the last 2 months... and then sent a relatively offensive e-mail to the girl that looks after our account, who's apparently passed it onto someone who gives a shit.

So it's taken them until today (new girl has been LIVING in the flat for 3 weeks!) to start running the checks on her that they need. Until they've done that apparently they can't accept her money (!?!), so she's having to transfer cash to me and then I'm paying them from my account.

Fuck landlords. They're almost all lazy fuckers.... it's even more difficult when they're morons too, though.

your managing agents sound like a bunch of disorganised twats, when I was doing property management I wouldn't have got away with forgetting to sort out the changeover of a tenancy
