I don't have a hi fi set, so monitors are great for listening. If I ever get a subwoofer though, I'll probably get a consumer one that shakes my room rather than a more accurate studio one which is better for producing but not as fun to listen on
Rayman612 - I think it's fine, so much of DJing revolves around what medium you use, so it's important. Also, I don't know about other people, but I'm fucking proud whenever I get a mix right on vinyl, so if I ever record an all vinyl mix, fuck yeah I'm going to label it all vinyl.
I just put up a mix I did with CDJs on my soundcloud, but I'm not going to label it "all-CDJs"

well yeah, obviously you aren't going to label it "all-CDJs" because CDJs aren't cool but vinyl is.
i'm all for people keeping vinyl alive, loving the medium but bragging about it gets real tired real quick. just get on with selecting the music ffs. that's what it's about.

I agree but I don't think it's bragging/taking it too far just to label the mix as all vinyl, indicating that vinyl is the medium you used for the mix

i doubt that is all people mean to convey when they do that. especially when it's like "mix for blah blah blah 23 [ALL VINYL!!!]"

I've noticed lots of mediocre bedroom DJs putting "all vinyl mix" in the title... I think some of them might just be trying to justify some slightly shaky mixing on account of not having a sync button

its ok if you put "vinyl" in like the tags on mixcloud or something, or like a bit at the end of the description that says "all vinyl"
but the medium should be what you prefer, the listener shouldnt care

Wav does not equal 4 times the bitrate of 320s as such in terms of what you hear.
MP3 is a perceptual codec. The data is removed in a way that there is least loss of perceivable information to the listener. Therefore simply saying that it's a lower bitrate therefore sounds a lot worse is not correct as it's not that straightforward at all.
Also you need to take part in a double blinded listening test to tell if you can hear the difference. Comparing it on your own switching between the two doesn't mean shit as your brain can convince itself that it's hearing what you want to hear.
