Thanks a bunch man, faith somewhat restored lol. I'ma try to get some more groove into that first track and I guess it might be a keeper. (BTW if you haven't you prolly wanna check out pretty lights. I know he's like super famous, but a lot of people for some reason haven't heard of him. Imagine you'd like his stuff)Houston Weather wrote:@ Maxxan- Both of these are super official. No lie, you might have just converted me from my brostep love to a glitch-head. The first one has a lot of potential and the second song is just ridiculous.
I checked your track out, although I'm at work so I've got a pair of in-ears with shitty subs. Since the style is a bit experimental it's hard to provide feedback on the composition, although the first minute or so basically had me wondering about the purpose or direction of the song. The percussion is cool and there's not really anything for me to pick on technically, I just felt like there was no musical idea in it otherwise than wonky perc sounds. Although, I imagine there's some stuff going on in the subs so it could just be that I'm missing out on the basslines. On the other hand I never really understood percussion based music, don't really listen to this kind of stuff so maybe it's just me and the style that don't get each other in which case this was a pretty retarded point to make, so I guess that depends on your audience.
At 1.40 things started to take off though. It's more relatable to me, I liked that part. The beat seems a bit underwhelming to me but I guess you got the kick hitting in the subs which would explain why I couldn't hear it. Anyway, you might wanna throw on a layer of mids or something in case anyone decides to listen to it through shitty headphones or (god forbid) laptop speakers or something like that, just so you hear that the rhythm is there. Never hurts, as long as you can fit it in the mix (which it sounds like you could). Unless you wanna keep it weird and underground, in which case keep it like that. Not like the track is aimed towards the kind of people who listen through their laptops anyway, hah
