swear when i watched the first one as a kid it was quite dark, this was just a romance.

Gribbly.

I thought the first half was amazing, so intense. Then it kind of descended into loads of running around and explosions.

Children of Men. Was pretty decent. Worth a watch.

1997 monster film from Guillermo Del Toro. First time I've watched it in at least 10yrs, can see a lot of early ideas for Hellboy/Golden Army/Pan's Labyrinth in it. Amazing stuff

Watched this for the umpteenth time last night. Such a brilliant film, so well made.
If you haven't seen it, I suggest you watch it immediately.
