It may come accross that I was slating the event. I didn't mean to sound like I was slating. I was trying to put the guys off the idea of the awards as it'll only end in people arguing no matter who wins.

The event on the other hand I think is very well put together with a great lineup.

I'm glad the boys have gone ahead to put on the awards. They've gone ahead to do exactly what they wanted to do, and I've no doubt that with the level of determination they've shown they'll put on a successful event.

I'm just smarting in advance for them that no matter who wins any awards, some section of the internet will be slating them.

Already they've got everyone on here slating them, and on their facebook page people are slating them for not booking any U.S. acts. The problem with dubstep now is that you can never please EVERYONE. But I'm sure they know this.

I wish em the best of luck. I'm supporting them on this and I admire em for their resolution through the whole process.

On a side note, all this "DJ Wanka" business.... If you really want to "ruin" the awards as you see fit why don't you spend more time and energy voting somebody you actually want to win, like Mala or Youngsta? If you believe in your hearts enough votes would enable DJ Wanka to win then why would you be so sure of somebody like Mala or Yunx not doing just that by the same method?

its lineups like these that make me wish I lived in the UK

basically now i think about it this is just a poor mans UKF bass culture thing.

they're basically the same price and i don't exactly like the UKF lineup but they've got the massive bro-ey bullshit artists whilst at the same time have a incredible 3rd arena and some big names in 2nd. and this is also without the gimmick of it being a music awards ceremony.

in a way sort of well done to UKF for making a better version of the DMAs my god i never thought i'd say that...

Haven't really been paying attention to this as I don't really care but I don't see why you need an awards. People like who they like, I don't see how giving someone an award is going to change anything.

Just going to create ego stroking, show boating and in the end it's going to get rid of the quality of the music. Instead of producers producing the music they love, they'll produce generic music so they can win the most votes. It's not a good thing for the scene but to be honest, we all knew this was going to happen...people coming in and making money and destroying what is, happens to every music genre.

EDIT: Just saw they didn't even know Disco Rekah. I understand you can't know every tune but really?

Went to Drum & Bass Awards a few years back and Pendulum won Best Live Act. Whole crowd boo'd and threw shit on stage. So yeah there is definitely going to be some arguing going on. Imagine if Skrillex wins an award... riots, because people are morons. I don't even like Skrillex but if he wins an award fair play to him.. don't like it, don't vote and don't return next year.. don't even assosiate yourself with it.
