Simonoff – Realize It/Think For Yourself
HAR 101

Smooth dub-tech sophistication from the heart of Austria. Floating around in that nether region between, dubstep, techno and house, Simonoff's music has been getting warm reception across Europe including airplay on Bun Zero's FOB show and support from Distance, DFRNT and many others. These two tracks feature lush arrangements, well placed vocal samples, tight percussion work, and rich bass accented with sweeping electronica elements.

2 Bit Thugs – Drama (b/w Major Havocs Rave In Da Hood remix and DJ Enfusions Deep J-tek Remix)

iDJ 9/10 *RECOMMENDED* “this is a tune you must have, and play at least once in a set!"

2 Bit Thugs mash-up the genre boundaries even more with their debut Fly Beat Music release – Drama.

Drama fuses tough crunk beats with a maddening bassline running at breakneck drum and bass speed to create and energetic yet cool half-step monster. Taking full advantage of the boundary less club scene the Thugs have created a tune that characterise everything that’s great about Hip-Hop/Drum and Bass/Dubstep/Breaks/Fidget…. I could go on. If you play just one particular style, or a multitude, this track works wonders either way, and if you prefer a more standard tempo, we’ve slotted in 2 heavy remixes for you too.

Major Havoc comes hot on the heels of his stupidly fresh debut release on Fly Beat Music. Scoring a commendable 4/5 in DJ Mag, he splatters the same hip rave brush at his take on Drama bringing the tempo down (or up) for a more contemporary mid-tempo rave-up.

DJ Enfusion sneaks us a look into Fly Beat Music’s new dub and tech sub-label, Flytronik7. Dropping the Jungle tempo to 150bpm and moving into J-tek territory, DJ Enfusion creates a remix brimming of old and new school influences alike. Being from Coventry DJ Enfusion is no stranger to the laws of the jungle and his deep bass, spacious sound and tight drum editing make for a fully law abiding stepper to finish off an all-round immense package.

Ben & Lex, Pete Jordan, Mr No Hands, Adam Fogerty, Outrage, Pilgrim and Hubie all think this release is the boom-diggy! So don’t mug your sets off, treat the dancefloor to some half-step bass insanity!

Buy @ Juno and iTunes or check your favourite vendors.

Autopilot - Fireflies

01 :: Singularity (feat Kochlear)
02 :: She Says
03 :: Slalom
04 :: Minor Laceration (feat Kochlear)
05 :: Once More
06 :: Fireflies (feat Kochlear)
07 :: From You
08 :: Nyshano Chichi Kyokudo
09 :: Arpeggi
10 :: Sounds From Hell (feat Kochlear)
11 :: Never Again (feat Kochlear)

Dubstep-esque full-length of deep, melodic tunes...some with an indie-rock edge brought by guitarist Kochlear. As heard on critically acclaimed shows such as BunZer0's "FOB Show", Cal Cutta's "Saturday Night Specials", and Dubbwune's "Bass Pon Mi". All over the world, people are going bananas for that new sound of "melodic stuff that's kinda like dubstep...minus the unbridled rage and cheesy movie samples".

All 11 songs are available for the ridiculously low price of $5 USD at autopilot.bandcamp.com

Richie August - No DIsko EP (BAPU003)

by skrewface
Image

Richie August started mixing Drum & Bass and Hip Hop in 1998. He then started producing his own
music in 2000, and worked with Chicago Hip Hop artist, "Skope The Lyrical MC", until he was exposed
to Dubstep in early 2008. It didn't take him long before his first Dubstep release was signed to
Betamorph Recordings entitled "Death Proof EP". As soon as that EP was released, it solidified his
sound in the Dubstep community as a Producer / DJ with nothing but teeth rattling bass and a Hip
Hop edge... A sound which nobody has been able to imitate. Since then, he's been making beat after
beat, remixing, collaborating and pushing out tracks. As soon as you hear a new Richie August tune,
you know it's his. Richie is a member of Chicago's "Dubfix" crew and has played clubs and raves all
over the US. He has shown his skills at the infamous "SmartBar" in Chicago numerous times,
murdering their dance floor on the clubs' Funktion-One sound system. Richie just got back from
playing Fuzz in Pittsburgh, has a tour planned for this winter, and is currently filling up his calendar
with dates throughout
the U.S.A.
