Got mine off Redeye.
Yoowan, how can you even know that from a 30sec clip?

most of them are a minute and a half on surus, personally i find that enough to be able to judge a tune in a sort of *do i want to spend 35 quid on this* kinda way

Yeah I definitely agree with that, it's not like Mala has some insanely progressive tunes that have wild changes and things like this. But I seriously love these tracks.

I did think this, but I imagine it'll be worth a bit more in not too long. Although I really can't see myself ever selling my copy
Also, it is 4 180g 12"s which would cost about the same amount if they were separate new 12" singles.

This ^
Also the amount of work Mala must have put into this. With travelling, sifting through (probably) hours of stems and everything else.. £30 is cheap to be honest. Can't wait for this to arrive

a bit off topic but is it common for white labels to sound better than a normal release? idk if that question makes any logical sense, , i listen to my eyez vip white label and then eyez on my return ii space record and the white label sounds sooo much better, meaning mastered better.

no. There will be no difference at all. A white label is just either a Test Press, or a promo without a proper sticker - if you had a Test Press (assuming it got accepted), a promo white label, and a full release with a sticker all of the same release, they would all sound exactly the same as would be all pressed from the same master

Well they are two different tracks, I expect Mala probably amended parts of the mix in Eyez for the VIP. I doubt the actual vinyl has anything to do with it, unless your Return II Space disc is worn out

Haha. Nah, it's not!
Really can't see the justification in price here. 4 plates for £30? Swamp take a lot of heat for their prices sometimes, but put out a 2 x 12" today for £10.99.
In b4 IF U UNDERSTOOD THE VIBES U WOULD PAY IT

30/4 = 7.50 per plate. Including (really nice) full artwork, and a full artwork box. Its a boxset, its to be expected, doubt they are charging anymore than they feasibly have to.
Go into any record store in the country, and each 12" is £7-8 in plain black artwork-less sleeves
The swamp release is only one full artwork outer sleeve, with both plates inside in paper sleeves.
+costs to print and pay a hosting company to provide download cards
completely justifiable if you look at what is involved in what you get for your money.
no-one made any fuss about the shackelton boxset, and its almost exactly the same price per plate, and they did not have any colour in the printing

Maybe I'm looking too much into the buy in bulk thing.
Not exactly a tiny run either, I know it's "limited" but 1000 is still a big press today, costs are gonna come down, plus I can imagine you're gonna get bulk deals on pressing 4000 plates, regardless of whether they're different tunes on each one. When labels are putting out much smaller runs with full artwork sleeves at £7, just makes me consider how much you can justify it, taking all that into consideration.
Guess we just have different ideas of what's justifiable dude. Never looked at the shackleton boxset, so can't comment. Different opinions and all that.
