that FUSE beat is killing me, love it. however most of the album is a bit of a disappointment for me. I'm still waiting for my proper CD copy and then write my final judgement....

yea same here

i know people were like "oh you just don't get it cause its so weird etc"

but its not that weird its just 80's throwback....we don't need 80's throwback...we need futuristic hip hop 8)

i can see this stuff working in the background at a party though, not really something I can sit and chill to

Yeah im only feeling about 3-4 tracks the whole 80's ish ruins it for me. Just sound i have no time for really. When he's good he's amazing, but some new stuff i will be skipping.

Looking forward to his album launch night in glasgow next week at numbers.....live show should be cool.

I like how it's not as weird as I thought it would be. Weird isn't the be all and end all. The commercial sound is mint!

edit: I do prefer the Heralds of change productions more though!

gotta agree with whats been said...overall it hasnt blown me away...some amazing tracks on it .."fruit touch" is gold but outweighed for me by the 80's/outkast kinda feel to it, and too synth heavy for me...possibility of it being a grower but ive hammered it allready...guys still a genius tho......

This LP is going to really be my first exposure to Hudson Mohawke's work and the (dare i say it) 'wonky' sound. Really liking this kind of stuff and the butter tub version with the t-shirt looks quite tasty. :D

nice one, good inta!
Having said all this, since this kind of music has risen in popularity and as seems to be the case with any genre that gets some attention, it’s definitely attracted a lot of producers who are just making music purely based on emulating the surface elements from some of the more original/established guys tracks, so in some cases that analogy about wonkie'ness could be true. It’s easy to spot a mile off though I think.
smacks it

Great album, FUSE is my favourite tune off this album. That melody is fantastic.

aye he came super correct in that interview. big up ross. the goal should be to try to speak for yourself, not mimic what others are saying.
