I love jazz...but i'm also liking the new jazz/house vibe crossover with producers like gramophonedzie and kormac and nights like riot jazz in manc...long live brass

For if people don't know that Louis Armstrong should not be known solely for singing (which is important, don't get me wrong), but foremost for the fact he created some of the best recorded music in history in the '20s.

This recording will always be on the list of truely timeless masterpieces of recorded sound.

(I like the song)

anyone into jazz fusion from the '70s? John Mclaughlin is probably my greatest musical inspiration, especially when it comes to guitar stuff.. just amazing

Love Fusion. John Mclaughlin is a don.

Miles even named a track after him:

I know we pose to post our tunes on the dubs section of the site but this next tune I made: probably belongs here more than in the dubs section in my opinion.

ez gents...

a new jazz show for those interested

http://www.mixcloud.com/shadesofblue ( archived shows )
Shades Of Blue - Jazz Show
on Radio Reverb 97.2FM is hosted by myself, Lefty Ricciardi ( a.k.a lefty the grumpy one ) Every Thursday @ 9pm..

Expect to hear various styles of original jazz on vinyl from the 50's / 60's & 70's...

At the end of each show there will be a small section called 'influenced' where I'll be playing music from the last 25 years thats sampled or been influenced by Jazz, mainly early Hip Hop, Jungle or Drum & Bass.

enjoy :)
