Headphones perfect for dubstep?

DT770's are the best headphones I have ever owned. You can hear every little detail and the response is flat and true. Bass shines in 'em too!! Mixes turn out to be very true on my monitor speaker system. I would never wear these on the bus though, they are huge. You would need a costume.

hd 25's are the one if you dj or produce, i had a pair once an left them at a gig.

but didn't the guy who started this thread say he wanted them for listening for 6/8 hours a day? i found the hd 25's very uncomfortable after a couple of hours due to the size of the ear cups, i also found they fell apart a bit after being used apx 5 hours a day after just a few months.

if you want them for listening all day + the odd bit of production then id get somthing the beyerdynamic dt 250. just over a year ago you could pick them up for about 70 quid, by the time id saved up my cash they've doubled in price!!
still amazing quality production headphones, large comfortable ear cups for long sessions + a nice slimline design aesthetic so lightweight. ive also seen a couple of people, including jakes, use them to deejay.

thats were my money'd go + id urge you to consider comfort before diving in for a pair of hd 25s (unless you deejay)

theres not really such a thing as "good headfones for dubstep", you just want a quality, flat sound. if youve got 100-200 bucks stick to brands like sennhieser , beyerdynamic , akg + sony an u shud be fine!

I got looking online and the cord goes on the left side? May seem like something minor but I could foresee that becoming extremely annoying.

How are the AKG K 518 DJ ?

They look fairly easy to push, not outrageous on size and look like they might be a step up from the Sennheiser 212's.

Any Comments ?

I've owned loads.

My current headphone is the HD 800, which i'm burning in at this very moment. They are pretty much THE definite reference phone for production work. Transparent as fuck but totally unforgiving if the mixing/mastering is poor. They need a good amp too.

I also have a pair of HD 650s which are fantastic too. So comfortable and just effortless to listen to.

For portable use, I still have a pair of Shure E4C's which work nicely. I do like the in-ear earphones and if you can afford to buy some Ultimate Ears or something nice like that, they're well worth investing in.

Also lol @ using HD 25's for production monitoring. They're DJ headphones and they do cueing well, but NEVER, EVER use closed back headphones for production.

How about something on Best Buy.com here in the US? I just got a $100 gift card and don't know on what headphones to spend it on. I'm thinking about Sony XB-500's but dont really know if they're completely worth it. Any suggestions?

i have Audio technica's ATH-ESS7 They're portable, pretty good, they can rattle bass but not as heavy as I like with some tracks.

Head-fi is a great forum for headphones and other somesuch.

Dude, go with the Denon AHD-2000s (as previously stated by afro monk)

just as good mids and highs as the Senn 650s but much better bass.

I use mine for monitoring and mixing

From what I've read previously I'd think the 2000's would be good. The issue becomes how easy to drive? Also is the bass warm with these? When listening to dubstep I like to hear a hard responsive bass.

I laugh when you say they look pretty good. I know its subjective how things look but it looks like they used 2 breast implants bridged together.

I personally like clean lines and real conservative look, hence me really liking the Denon AH 2000s as pictured above. I looked online and to my surprise the 2000s look extremely easy to push, even easier then my Senn 212's.

If anyone has a pair of 2000s could you make a video showing how the size compares to other things.

I have a pair of M-audio Q40's. They have an awesome deep bass. Better and then the DT770 imo. They cost around 150 dollars. Definitely worth to consider!

There a gaming headset, but one of the best headsets i've ever used.
Standard lead jack is a 3.5mm audio, but it also comes with a jack to plug into mixers and amps. all gold plated and that.. comes with a extension cable.... i love them :3

i bought my almost 2 years ago, still perfect, for around... £40. ;o
