I think we should do it, but it is getting late, maybe we can take the time to prepare for an early spring outdoors. To be honest, up north when I spent some time up there we had shows on much colder mountains late into the season. so its possible.

I say we forget trying to do a club thing, unless you guys really want to compete with all the shit going on, we could plan for a nice one night campout next spring that could be really nice and communal. Lots to think about.

Does an indoor thing have to be a club thing? A unique time and place might be able to compete, against, what, I don't know the scene

We were kicking around some ideas for dj's... is this a paid thing or a free? I vote for free :z:

i think we should do something free, showcase off talent and some of the bigger names from the city. I vote no on going to a club/indoor thing because the competition is so strong. there is a ton of shit going on.

if we thought and planned an outdoor, featuring a lot of local talent in the spring or when we feel its warm enough, it could be well setup and pop off well, if the property could sustain such a thing.

Thats my feel.

Halloween shindig??? Could we get things going that quick, or too lofty an idea?

Well if we're worried about competition, that'd probably be the worst night. I up for it though. This doesn't have to be the second coming of christ. Just some online homies putting together a little dubstep event?

The outdoor thing might not be such a good idea. Its gonna rain guaranteed!!

Im down for a warehouse vibe type party, I know a lot of the students who go to Ameoba in berekley are definately feeling dubstep.

Yeah, why not get out of sf and bring dubstep to place where there is a lack, rather than an overabundance.

Where are you thinking? I think rushing into this party is a bad idea. If we plan for next spring we could potentially setup something that is big, free, and introduces people to new sounds.

There is WAY too much going on in and around the bay, sure it would be fun to through a warehouse shindig, but it won't be fun when 20 people show up. If we are going to do an indoor party, we need to figure out what weekend (and we are going to have to do in a couple months anyways) because of all the shit going on. We do want to achieve some sort of crowd.

Well I'm even only a bit north of the golden gate, and there are literally no events out this way, the closest thing sadly is probably house night, reggae shows or someshit. Seriously too most the time I mention dubstep to people who haven't been introduced yet around here they either say oh yeah I like dub! or ask if I went to Reggae on the River. It's weird that there's a lot going on in some spots, but then absolutely nothing only 25 mins away.

I'm all for starting to plan something for when the weather is nice again. It'd be ideal to do that in addition to getting something smaller going in the near future in the meantime too. Planning something as soon as Halloween would most likely end up being a small more homies get together than an event, which I'm all for too and will probably end up doing anyways.

Another option also I forgot to mention until now, is getting setup with some radio shit. I've been offered shows on 3 internet radio stations (not little POS ones either) but didn't go forward with it to focus on production and shows. If mixing skills are up to par we could get some shit going on that too if interested. Would be fun to get a group of folks going for that!

Haven't met up again with my friend w/ the spot again just yet, keep making plans to then shit comes up.
